This is an engine shipped down from NSW. It had some bad stuff going on. The rear end float must have been set to tight and picked up material. It totally destroyed the rear bearings thrust surface. When we pulled it apart we found the cam and lifters were also destroyed. All lifter bores were warn badly.
Lucky we know how to fix this. We machined the lifter holes out, installed the bronze bushes and then machined and finish reamed the bushings. The ended up measuring 18.99mm to 19.00 absolutely perfect. With new lifters they will have .0015''. We have done this quite a few times now and works out great.

Another 1911cc (96x66). This come in with a noisy cam. Ended up that it had eaten a thrust face off of the cam bearing. We found the cam had .006" of taper on it causing alot of load. This would have led to the failure. In doing all this it also had a .005" bend in the crank and case needed a line bore. We fitted new 96mm pistons and cylinders. We reconditioned the heads and fitted new valves. Gave it our usual pretty up and fitted a set of our 40idf webers. Has come up really nice.

A little insight as to some of the work that goes into a 1200cc Formula vee motor. This was a big job as it was completely destroyed. We got it all repaired up and now its back with the owner. Made some very impressive numbers for a small 1200.

Was installing some case savers into this old 1200 case to make the studs have a new life into some steel inserts. We also are making our own case savers that actually work. Alot of the rubbish on the market just doesn't fit.

Had the crank grinder cranking today. This is a little 1200cc race crank for a formula vee motor that blew up.

This poor little 1200cc formula vee motor has seen better days. Gonna need a bit of TLC to get this back together.

Getting closer to getting this beast finished up. All mounting of all sensors and plumbing of fuel lines, vacuum hoses, boost control, temp senders. Takes a lot of nutting out and trying to make it look clean and tidy. Harder than you think. Especially when the fittings i want don't exist.
