Massive start to the year with some big builds in progress.
Reece’s 75 Series is well underway — and this thing’s going to be something else 💪

AWD VS RWD class set to headline the 2026 NDRC No Prep Series.

Featuring the quickest no prep street cars in Townsville, during elimination racing RWD cars will receive a .400 handicap/head start but be limited to a 6.90 index while AWD cars will continue running on a 6.50 index. This change has been brought upon to close up the field and create safe and exciting side by side racing for spectators and competitors.

The AWD vs RWD bracket will run at the following meetings;

Cheapa Auto Spares Woodstock Nationals No Prep on May 3rd.
Barry's Bulk Haulage Old School vs Modern No Prep on June 27th.
Performance Parts Plus King of the Ville on September 12th.

All racers will still be able to submit timeslips as fast as 6.37 for the JW Customs & Auto Electrical Townsville Top 10 List from either qualifying/practice or from a breakout during eliminations at all five NDRC No Prep events in 2026.

This bracket may be subject to change over the course of 2026 based on feedback and entrant numbers.

We are currently on the lookout for AWD vs RWD bracket sponsors for all three meetings, if this may be of interest to you, please reach out to the club for further information.

Finally making some progress on our Datsun. Mock-up motor is in and mounted, clearances checked. Next step is stripping the bay and starting bodywork.

A few tidy-ups on Scotty’s classic Pontiac Parisienne. We repaired some damaged wiring, installed a Davies Craig fan controller to manage the thermo fans, and made sure this beauty is ready to cruise again.

After close to 20 years off the road, we had the pleasure of helping Ian bring this classic back to life. We fitted a Haltech Rebel LS system, tidied up the factory wiring, retrofitted Autometer gauges, and got all lighting and electrical systems operating as they should. Just a few finishing touches left before she’s ready to hit the road once again.

Another classic back on the road. We fitted a Holley Sniper EFI system, fresh air cleaner and valve covers, new plug leads, twin thermo fans with custom mounting brackets, completed a wiring tidy-up, and carried out a few roadworthy repairs. Finished off with registration and a full tune – this HQ One Tonner is now running beautifully and ready to enjoy.

That little mystery that we posted a few weeks back, well here it is!

We’ve bought ourselves a Datsun 1200 Ute. Why a Datsun of all things? Well with the intention of doing it up as a bit of a race car we’ve got a full on plate with this little beast and we couldn’t say no to the price.

Updates on this business project as we go! Would you believe we already taken its engine out so we can put something a little more power in it.

We’ve been a bit quiet lately, here’s why.

Last week was spent getting the 75 ready for Red Centre Nats out in Alice Springs this year.

After a couple days of driving we made it. With scrutineering done today the old girl is all stickered up and ready for a fun weekend!
