🔧 VF SSV – Lifter & Camshaft Overhaul | Fair Performance Dyno Tuning

Another VF SSV in the workshop at Fair Performance for a lifter and camshaft overhaul!

We carried out the necessary work to get this LS engine back in shape, while also planning ahead for future performance upgrades. The combination has been set up with further enhancements in mind, allowing us to build on the existing camshaft package down the track.

This stunning VE SS Group A replica is running a 6.0-litre V8 fitted with a Magnuson 1900 supercharger. Owner Scott has put in the hard work rebuilding the engine, and we had the pleasure of getting it dialled in on the dyno.

🔧 2012 VE Commodore SS

This 2012 VE Commodore SS came in for a L98 camshaft swap, DOD (Displacement on Demand) delete and a full dyno tune.

The L77 was originally designed to operate with DOD, so once the DOD system is removed and an L98 camshaft is fitted, the engine management needs to be correctly recalibrated.

A proper tune can address:

✅ DOD/AFM system correctly disabled
✅ Fuelling calibrated
✅ Idle quality improved
✅ Throttle response optimised
✅ Ignition timing adjusted
✅ Fuel and air ratios checked under load
✅ Full dyno testing to safely extract the performance from the combination

Every engine combination is different, which is why we don't just load a generic tune and send the car out the door.

At Fair Performance, we tune the car on the dyno and calibrate it to suit the modifications.

🔥 ZOLT’S 1972 CHARGER — SNIPER TO CARBY CONVERSION! 🔥

Zolt’s tough 1972 Charger with a 360 originally came to us running a Holley Sniper EFI system, which we had previously tuned.

We had already explained that some of the early Sniper units can suffer from inherent reliability issues. The system was wired correctly, but after around three months of driving, Zolt decided it was time for a change.

Out came the Sniper and in went a Quick Fuel 750 carburettor, backed by an ICE Ignition system.

The result? 💥 20kW more at the wheels!

Sometimes going back to a well-sorted carburettor setup is exactly what an old-school muscle car needs. 🇦🇺🔥
