The loose buckle on your wallet.

Every loose buckle on your tautliner could potentially be treated as a separate load restraint breach under the Heavy Vehicle National Law.

That means if you've got 5 buckles not properly secured, you could be looking at 5 individual breaches. At around $300 per breach for a minor risk infringement, that adds up fast. Five loose buckles? That's $1,500 right there.

Enforcement officers have the discretion to issue multiple infringement notices if they identify multiple defects in your load restraint system. Each unsecured strap or buckle can be viewed as a separate failure to comply with load restraint requirements.

Don't give them the opportunity. Do a proper curtain check before you roll. Every buckle matters. Every strap counts. Your wallet will thank you.
