RWC done and dusted on the 72 1302. Battery tray repair , brake line replacement , rear wheel bearings and nice new set of tyres and she’s done.
T3 Panel in for fuel tank and fuel pump change. Old tank was in bad shape , breather seals leaking and bottom stoved in. Bad rubber seals are the cause of fill up overflows . New tank , pump , seals and all hoses has it working nice and quietly 👍

Bit of electrical this week. Fitting new head unit and replacing broken dash panel on this Westie. Dash was badly hacked previously so had to work with what we had. Reworked the opening and custom panel . Fitted these nice speakers from Cottswold speed into the dash vents . New kick panels fitted too.
Also 72 Beetle back from RWC check with a short to do list . Big ticket item being replacing 15yo tyres 😜

Been doing the final bits of interior and RWC check prep work on this red 1302. Off for the RWC later this week.
Also removing some lows from this Westie Kombi with the fitting of a set of Pat Browns adjustable spring plates and strip down of front end to adjust a very stuck set of Avis adjusters. Couple of inches higher and should handle the pot holed crappy roads around here a bit better. Certainly rides nicer.

Kombis and Kombis over the last couple of weeks. Breakdowns, RWC work and window replacements on the list.
Also managed to tick a few jobs off the list for the 72 Super. Interiors coming along nicely. Waiting on the front seat backs to be reworked, then fit some seat belts, few little electrical things , and it will be RWC time 👍

Been a little while since I last posted. Still a bit going on with longer term projects. Interior and glass going into a nice survivor 72 SuperBeetle . Nice work by the crew at ProtectorAuto Glass.
Rear corner rust repair and quick little dash panel clean up on a 77 Bay. Welding up the pin holes still to do . It’s amazing how much clearer the gauges are now after a strip, clean and reassembly.

That’s a wrap for 2025. The last couple of weeks saw a short line up of Kombis and a Beetle in for various works including a quick engine change on my 68 Lowie.

Various jobs happening over November. Taking the shimmy out of a 72 Super Beetle, center pin change on a 67 Splitty, lock set key alike on a 60 Splitty and replacing windscreen rubbers in same and service work on 82 T3 and 78 Bay.
Finally had the RockNRoll bed upholstered and fitted in my 68 Lowlite. On the run home to Christmas now 🎄

RWC check done on the 60 Splitty. List isn’t too bad but 20yo tyres weren’t up to scratch 😜. So owners taken wheels away...

Interior stuff this week. Fitted recovered quarter and sliding door cards to 69 Lowie and roof cards and raw door cards to 60 splitty. Bit of greasy stuff chucked in to including oil level checking reduction hubs .
