Moody's Motors

Moody's Motors Moody's Motor's Business was brisk as the area grew with wheat, sheep and cattle farming. His motto: “I treat every day as a new opportunity…”

In 1933, Norman Moody started a small automotive engineering and repair shop in the country town of Coonamble in central-western New South Wales. Today Coonamble is six and a half hours from Sydney, eight from Brisbane and one and a half from Dubbo, but travel in those days meant that vehicles did it hard on the local roads – repair customers were never in short supply. Norman worked hard, coming

to the attention of GM who appointed him a dealer in 1939. In 1948 Norman became a proud Holden Dealer and was prouder still five years later when his son Ken joined as a “grease monkey”. Ken stayed in the Dealership for 52 years, assuming the DP role in 1965. In 1983 his son Scott joined fresh out of school for his turn as a “grease monkey” thereby starting the whole family cycle over again. When Ken retired in 2003, Scott became DP and immediately made his mark with multiple awards as a Holden Grand Master. Scott has a great love for his part of the world and is fully aware of the value of being a Holden Dealer in the area.
