Last month, Ned and Lorrie Dozier from OneWater Yacht Group in Maryland welcomed Riviera owners and friends for their tenth annual Rendezvous, a milestone made all the more special by the Riviera family that has grown around this event. A decade of shared adventures, friendships and time on the water is certainly something worth celebrating!

From dockside breakfasts to fun social evenings at some of Baltimore’s favourite venues, the days were filled with great food, plenty of laughter and fabulous company.

Being part of the Riviera family is about more than owning a motor yacht. It’s about the learning, experiences, friendships and memories created along the way, and our international dealer network brings owners together in wonderful ways both on and off the water.

From enjoying the best boating life with four-legged friends to spectacular evenings and cocktails at sunset, Riviera owners continue to capture the moments that make life on the water so special.

Miles Fink captured Acquisition IV during “Sunset Hour” off Russell Island, South East Queensland, enjoying a sundowner along the Australian coast.

Amy Hayes shared this fun moment aboard DnA at Sanctuary Cove Marina, in South East Queensland perfectly summed up and titled “It’s a dog’s life…” — with their four-legged friends enjoying the boating life just as much as their owners.

Meanwhile off South Stradbroke Island also in South East Queensland Australia, Steve and Donna Downs shared this beautiful evening aboard Serene, describing it simply as “What a cracking night on the Goldy.”

Three Riviera yachts, three special moments and three wonderful reminders of why life on the water is always worth capturing.

Protecting your yacht beneath the waterline is just as important as protecting everything above it.

On Volvo Penta powered Riviera motor yachts, the Active Corrosion Protection (ACP) system works continuously to help protect the drive units from galvanic corrosion in salt and brackish water.

This system replaces sacrificial anodes where in traditional boats the use zinc or magnesium blocks slowly waste away to protect metal parts.

ACP takes a more proactive approach. Three reference sensors continuously measure the electrical potential between the drives and the surrounding water, while a control unit automatically regulates a protective current from the batteries through a titanium anode in the transom unit (1).

This impressed current cathodic protection system continuously adjusts the level of protection to keep the drives within their safe range for salt and brackish water. As long as ACP is active, the drive anodes are not consumed as part of the normal galvanic protection process. A back-up anode fitted into the rear tube of each drive protecting the propellers will still corrode in the event of any power loss (2 and 3).

The system is fully integrated with Volvo Penta’s Electronic Vessel Control (EVC) system, with its status displayed directly on the glass bridge displays at the helm (4). A backup sacrificial anode also provides protection should power to the system be low or disconnected (5).

This smart technology works continuously in the background to protect your motor yacht around the clock. This calibre of systems intelligence is just another reason why you will enjoy boating more with Riviera.

Today, the Riviera team welcomed Composites Australia for a special TECH Event. 60 members and guests enjoyed a detailed briefing from our Director of Manufacturing, Kyle Davison, toured our 16.8-hectare facility and concluding with an enjoyable lunch at our Riviera Yacht Club on the Coomera River.

Over the course of their visit, the delegates learned about our approach to composite manufacturing, exploring how lamination has evolved over the years and the continual refinements that have led to the state-of-the-art lamination and construction processes that are used today in the creation of every Riviera motor yacht.

It was a day of shared knowledge, and we thank Composites Australia and their guests for joining us and sharing our passion for quality, innovation, and the art of building world-class luxury motor yachts in Australia.
