CURE 48GT: THE MOMENT THE ENGINE GOES OFF

There's a moment when all the engineering behind a boat becomes almost invisible.

The engine goes quiet. The sails fill. The helm comes alive.

And you stop thinking about the boat and start thinking about sailing.

That's what the Cure 48GT is designed to create.

Lightweight carbon construction, daggerboards, a balanced sail plan and helm-led controls all work towards the same thing:

Making the boat feel right when you're sailing it.

That's where engineering matters.

Not because you notice it. Because you don't.

Cure 48GT. Sail Faster. Stay Longer.

THE CURE 55GT: READY TO SAIL

What does “ready to sail” actually mean?

It isn't about having the longest equipment list.

It means the important decisions have already been made and the systems have been designed to work together.

The Cure 55GT is built by McConaghy, with the rig designed and built by Spars, McConaghy's own spar division.

The rig isn't simply fitted to the finished boat. Its geometry, loads and relationship with the structure are considered as part of the overall design.

The same thinking applies throughout the Cure.

The sail plan, sail handling and cruising systems are developed as a complete package.

You shouldn't have to engineer your own boat from an endless list of options.

The Cure 55GT starts with the important decisions already made.

Then you make it yours.

WHY ELECTRIC SAIL HANDLING?
Because making a boat easier to sail doesn't mean taking the sailing away from you.
A performance cruising catamaran can generate substantial loads through the rig.
Electric sail-handling systems allow those loads to be managed with precision and consistency, particularly when sailing short-handed.
But the technology is only useful if it is integrated properly.
On a Cure, the objective is to bring control to the sailor rather than simply add automation.
Controls are positioned around the helms. Sail handling remains visible and intuitive.
And substantial loads can be managed without requiring a large crew.
The result is simple:
Less physical effort. More control. More time actually sailing.
The objective isn't to automate sailing - it's to make the boat easier to sail well.

WHY BRIDGE DECK CLEARANCE?
Some design decisions are obvious.
Others are felt.
Bridge deck clearance is one of them.
When a catamaran meets a short, steep seaway, waves can build beneath the bridge deck. If clearance is limited, the impact can become uncomfortable and repeated slamming places additional demands on the structure.
So the answer isn't simply “make the gap bigger.” Hull shape, displacement, structure, hull spacing and the geometry of the bridgedeck all have to work together.
On a Cure, generous clearance is part of a broader offshore design approach.
The aim is a boat that remains composed when conditions become less comfortable.
Because offshore capability isn't something you add with equipment later.
It starts with the shape and structure of the boat itself.

WHY CURE BUILDS A BOAT AROUND SAILING?
Most cruising catamarans are designed around the same fundamental question:
How much can we fit on board?
Cure starts with a different question: How can we make the sailing itself better?
That difference influences the entire boat.
The Cure range is built in carbon by McConaghy, creating a lightweight platform designed to perform under sail.
From there, the focus is on making that performance usable for cruising.
Daggerboards provide adjustable underwater lift and reduce drag when their full area isn't required.
The self-tacking jib simplifies upwind sailing.
Sail controls are brought back to the helms for short-handed handling.
And the interior and systems are developed around spending extended time aboard, without turning the boat into a floating apartment.
The result is deliberate.
A catamaran designed to be comfortable enough to cruise, but purposeful enough that you still want to sail it when the anchorage is only a few miles away.
That's the Cure approach.
Start with the sailing. Then build the cruising experience around it.

CURE 48GT: WHEN THE WIND DROPS
This is where lightweight starts to matter.
When the breeze fades, a heavier boat can quickly lose momentum.
A lighter platform has less mass to move through the water, allowing it to carry speed for longer and respond more readily when the next puff arrives.
But weight is only one part of the equation.
Hull shape, sail plan, underwater foils and rig all have to work together.
That's why Cure doesn't treat lightweight construction as an isolated specification.
It is the foundation for a complete sailing system.
Less weight gives the rest of the design more to work with.
And sometimes, that means staying in the groove when others are reaching for the engine start button.
Lightweight by Design.

THE CURE 55GT-DESIGNED AROUND YOU
A good cruising catamaran shouldn't make you think about every movement.
Where to stand.
Where to reach.
Where to sheet.
Where to see.
On a Cure, these things are considered as part of the sailing experience.
The helm positions give the sailor a clear view of the sails and surroundings. Controls are positioned naturally. Running rigging is led where it can be managed. Movement around the boat has been considered alongside the way the boat is actually sailed.
It sounds simple.
But when a boat is designed around the person using it, hundreds of small decisions start working together.
The result isn't a boat with more features. It's a boat that makes more sense.

WHY FULL CARBON?
Carbon isn't important because it's exotic.
It's important because it changes what can be achieved.
High-strength, high-stiffness carbon construction allows Cure to build a structure that is exceptionally efficient in its use of weight.
And that matters because weight doesn't exist in isolation.
Every kilogram carried through the boat has consequences.
More weight means more mass to move.
More mass influences acceleration, loads and the amount of power required from the rig.
So Cure starts by asking a different question:
How little weight can we carry while still achieving the strength and stiffness the boat requires?
That's where carbon earns its place.
Not as a badge of technology. But as a tool for building a lighter, stiffer and more responsive sailing platform.
The point isn't carbon. It's what carbon makes possible.

The destination matters. But so does every mile that gets you there.

The feeling at the helm.
The confidence offshore.
The quiet anchorage at the end of the day.
The knowledge that every detail has been engineered for a reason.

That's the philosophy behind every Cure.

Because sailing has never simply been about arriving. It's about enjoying the journey.

Many catamaran builders smother you with a long optional extras list.

We chose a different approach.

Every Cure is delivered with a carefully considered standard specification developed through years of offshore sailing experience.

The result is a catamaran that's genuinely ready for serious cruising from day one.

Less time comparing options.
More time planning adventures.

Because we've already done the thinking.
