OUTBACK ROAD REPORT

Arrabury Road Closed Road is severely damaged with silt build-up, and erosion. Closed until further notice.
Birdsville Inside Track Closed Due to flooding until further notice.
Birdsville Track - Cooper Creek causeway Closed The road is accessible to local 4WD traffic only. Exercise caution due to soft edges and boggy areas.
Birdsville Track - Cooper Creek to Marree Closed Marree to Dulkaninna Station open to 4WD. Caution at creek crossings and rough sections. Dulkaninna Station to Cooper Creek open to local 4WD ONLY. Extreme caution at creeks, flagged and badly scoured sections.
Birdsville Track - SA Border to Mungeranie Closed Road closed due to flooding between Clifton Hills Station and Mungeranie.No public access from Birdsville-Mungeranie.Grading crew working between QLD/SA Border and Clifton Hills Station.Closure expected until at least end of August, weather dependent
Brachina Gorge Road Closed Due to rain. Road is too slippery making it unsafe especially at the Slippery Dip. Reassess Thursday 4 June.
Bunyeroo Valley Road Closed Due to recent rain, road is very slippery. Reassess Thursday 4 June.
Cooper Creek Ferry Crossing Access Closed The Barge service is not in full operation. The road is accessible to local 4WD traffic and essential service vehicles with an approved Exemption to travel on a closed road. Road repair works are in progress.
Cordillo Downs Road - Arrabury turn off to SA/QLD Border Closed Road is severely damaged, silt build-up, and erosion. Feb/Mar rainfall has caused further deterioration. Closed until further notice.
Cordillo Downs Road - Innamincka to Arrabury turn off Closed Road is severely damaged especially between Patchawara Creek and Bookabourdie. Innamincka causeway is flowing. Closed until further notice.
Glass Gorge Road Closed NOTE: road is open to 4WD-high clearance towing from Blinman to Moolooloo Rd turnoff. No access from Parachilna end. Caution at creek crossings and rocky sections.
Mulgaria Rd - Farina to Mulgaria via Witchelina Closed Close from Farina to Mulgaria. Road is wet, severe scouring, and debris in creek crossings. Next update 12/6/26. Note: the road is open from the bitumen to Farina.
Riecks Rd - Merty Merty to Cameron Corner Closed Road is impassable to all vehicles due to severe scouring in the sand hills, and washouts.
Strzelecki Track - Della/Dullingari Rd junction to Moomba Closed No access west towards Moomba (Della Rd) due to flooding and severe damage. No services at Moomba.
Yorkeys Crossing Rd (Port Augusta Heavy Vehicle Bypass) Closed Road remains very wet and muddy. Reassess Friday 5 June (afternoon).
Arckaringa Rd - Mt Barry to Arckaringa 4WD Only Caution at creek crossings and soft sections. NOTE: road is open to weight equivalent of a single semi-trailer from Kempe Rd to Arckaringa Station.
Borefield Rd - Roxby Downs to Bopeechee 4WD Only First 20 km is dry. Remaining road has widespread ponded water and soft edges. Deep washout is coned. Gregory Creek has a soft, muddy, and silted bottom.
Buckleboo Rd - Thurlga Station to Kimba 4WD Only Caution at creek crossings, scouring on edges and minor gutters. Sections may have ponded water. Note: Extreme caution on Mail Run Road at deep drop-offs at creek crossings.
Erudina Rd - Martins Well Rd to Tea Tree Rd 4WD Only Caution at creek crossings and floodways. Sections of the road is scoured and has ponded water.

Evelyn Downs Rd - Mt Barry to Painted Desert Road junction 4WD Only Use caution at creek crossings and where edge scouring has occurred. Sand and silt deposits are present along the road.
Gawler Ranges Rd - Hiltaba Rd to Wirrulla 4WD Only Caution at sections with ponded water and at the clay section.
Gawler Ranges Rd - Kingoonya to Skull Camp Tanks Rd 4WD Only Caution at ponded water and soft edges.
Gawler Ranges Rd - Skull Camp Tanks Rd to Hiltaba Rd 4WD Only Caution at creek crossings, and sections may have ponded water.
Hiltaba Rd - Hiltaba to Pondana Ruins 4WD Only Use extreme caution at severely deep washouts approximately 20 km from the Nonning Road end. Be cautious at creek crossings, washouts, gutters, and uneven surfaces.
Martins Well Rd - Rawnsley Park to Martins Well 4WD Only Use caution near washouts, deep gutters, ponded water, and scours. Larger scours are flagged. Slow down at creek crossings and floodways.
Moralana Gorge Road 4WD Only High-clearance vehicles are recommended. Use caution at creek crossings, and damp sections and edges.
Mt Hopeless Rd - Mt Hopeless to Balcanoona via Moolawatana 4WD Only NOTE: road is open to 4WD/HV from Balcanoona to Wooltana Station. Use caution at all creek crossings, especially Paralana Creek which is soft and boggy.
Nonning Rd - Iron K**b to Pondana Ruins 4WD Only Caution at flagged sections for small washouts. Some sections have ponded water, silt, and gutters. Note: Extreme caution on Mail Run Road at deep drop-offs at creek crossings.
North Flinders Rd - Tea Tree to Wirrealpa Rd 4WD Only Use caution at Wearing Gorge due to water in creek crossings and wheel rutting. Take care around flagged scour areas and sections of soft ground. A deep drop-off is present at the creek crossing 5 km north of Wirrealpa Station.
North Flinders Rd - Wirrealpa Rd to Blinman 4WD Only Caution at creek crossings.
Painted Desert Road 4WD Only Open to 4WD (including towing) and single semi-trailers with caution at creeks and floodways.
Skull Camp Tanks Rd - Skull Tanks to Pondana Ruins via Kangaroo Well 4WD Only Caution at creek crossings, and sections may have ponded water.
Talc Mine Rd - The K**b to Mt Fitton Mine 4WD Only Caution at creek crossings, sections with ponded water and soft edges.
William Creek Rd - Coober Pedy to William Creek 4WD Only Open to 4WD (including towing) and single semi-trailers with caution at creek crossings, washout and scours. Caution at bypass track around flooded section.
Wirrealpa Rd - Wirrealpa to Oraparinna 4WD Only Caution creek crossings.
Yardea Rd - Yardea Station to Minnipa 4WD Only High clearance 4WD only. Caution at creek crossings, and sections may have ponded water.
Adventure Way 4WD/HV Only Use caution on damaged seal areas. Exercise caution at road edges, including drop-offs and soft shoulders.
Birdsville Track - Mungeranie to Cooper Creek 4WD/HV Only Extreme caution at rough sections, creek crossings, washouts, and scours.
Kalamurina Rd - Mungeranie to Kalamurina 4WD/HV Only No access between Kalamurina Station and Cowarie Station.
Mooleulooloo Rd - Mingary to Kalkaroo 4WD/HV Only Caution at wheel ruts, bog holes and scoured sections.
Mt Dare Rd - Hamilton Station to Oodnadatta 4WD/HV Only Caution at bulldust and loose sections.
Mt Dare Rd - Mt Dare to Hamilton Station 4WD/HV Only Caution at bulldust and loose sections.
Muloorina Rd - Marree to Muloorina 4WD/HV Only Caution road edges are soft. No access to Level Post Bay due to severe rain damages.
Oodnadatta Track - Bopeechee to Marree 4WD/HV Only Slowdown at all creek crossings with ponded water - bottoms generally firm, but conditions can change. Use caution on corrugations. High-clearance vehicles recommended.
Oodnadatta Track - Marla to Oodnadatta 4WD/HV Only Opened to 4WD with towing. Caution at severe washouts from Marla to Coongra channel. Flood ways are still soft and holding water. Grading crews are currently working in the area, proceed with caution and follow traffic management when travelling
Oodnadatta Track - Oodnadatta to William Creek 4WD/HV Only Caution at scoured sections, washouts, soft sections, and floodways.
Oodnadatta Track - William Creek to Bopeechee 4WD/HV Only Slow down at all creek crossings with ponded water - bottoms generally firm, but conditions can change. Use caution on corrugations, soft edges and muddy spots. High-clearance vehicles recommended.
Strzelecki Track - Innamincka to Della/Dullingari Rd junction 4WD/HV Only Exercise caution at damaged seal areas and soft shoulders.
Strzelecki Track - Merty Merty to Mt Hopeless 4WD/HV Only Use caution near Strzelecki Creek Crossing and in flood-damaged areas where restrictions and signage apply.
Strzelecki Track - Moomba to Merty Merty 4WD/HV Only Please exercise caution when travelling through sealed areas. Potholes, soft road edges and flood-damaged sections may be present. Restrictions and warning signage are in place in locations where extensive damage has occurred.
Strzelecki Track - Mt Hopeless to Talc Mine Rd 4WD/HV Only Caution at creek crossings, floodways, and soft sections. Speed restrictions apply between Yeralina Creek and Dog Fence due to road works
