🚗 Mitsubishi Triton 2018 — DPF warning follow-up.

Firstly, everyone was correct in their answers.

The fault ended up being a split boost hose.

Because the boost hose had split, the vehicle wasn’t able to complete a proper DPF regen. When the car attempts a regen but can’t carry it out correctly, it can lead to diesel dilution in the engine oil, causing the oil level to rise and overfill the engine.

Once the DPF light comes on, the vehicle will no longer perform a regen on its own — so it needs to be diagnosed and repaired properly.

In this case, finding the actual cause was the important part. A DPF warning doesn’t always mean the DPF itself is the problem. 🔧

🔧 Audi Radiator Replacement 🚗

This Audi was in for a new radiator to keep the cooling system working as it should. A leaking or failing radiator can lead to overheating and potentially expensive engine damage.

Another one sorted and back on the road! ✅

⚓ What a great weekend in Sydney!

Matt and Bec headed up for the AASDN weekend, which included the AGM, plenty of networking and even sailing around Sydney Harbour! ⛵️

It was great catching up with fellow business owners, meeting new suppliers and talking all things automotive.

A special thank you to Lee and AASDN for organising such a fantastic weekend — we had an absolute ball!

It was also nice to get away while Matt’s hand continues to heal. We’re slowly getting back into the swing of things and hopefully back to normal next week. 🔧🚗

🔧 A quick update from Pure Automotive 🔧

Unfortunately, Matt injured his hand in an accident last week and has since needed surgery.

We’ll be open Monday, with Justin helping out, however we’re already fully booked. The workshop will then be closed Tuesday through Friday to give Matt some time to recover and heal properly.

A massive thank you to Josh for stepping in and giving us a hand — literally! 😅 And a big thank you to Justin for coming in Friday, cleaning up the workshop, getting things organised and helping keep everything on track.

We’d also like to say thank you to everyone who already knew about Matt’s injury and has sent through messages and well wishes. They’ve been very much appreciated. ❤️

While the workshop is closed, we’ll still be answering phone calls and emails, so you can still get in touch with us.

⚠️ THIS is why preventative maintenance matters.

This Ford Falcon came into Pure Automotive for a service and check-over — and once we got underneath it, we found a fair bit that needed attention.

As you can see in the video, some of these issues had progressed well beyond normal wear and maintenance. At this point, it’s not just about the repair bill — it becomes a genuine safety concern for the driver and everyone else sharing the road.

Regular servicing gives us the opportunity to catch wear and developing problems before they turn into bigger, more expensive and potentially dangerous repairs.

🚗 Don’t wait until something breaks.
🔧 Keep up with your scheduled servicing.
🔍 Get those little knocks, noises and changes checked early.

Preventative maintenance is almost always better than waiting for a problem to become a major repair.

🔧 Transmission Fault Diagnosis

This vehicle came in with a transmission fault, and the relevant TSB advised checking/updating the TCM software before replacing the pressure switches.

💻 Unfortunately, the latest software was already installed, so we moved on to replacing the faulty pressure switches.

We also found the transmission fluid was extremely dirty and looked like it hadn’t been changed in a very long time.

⚠️ Despite some manufacturers calling transmission fluid “filled for life”, it still deteriorates over time and should be serviced to help protect your transmission.

✅ Fault repaired
✅ Fresh fluid & filter
✅ Road tested & shifting correctly

We can also carry out ECU software updates where required. 🔧💻
