This Audi A4 came to us with no pressure in the cooling system and heaters not working the way it should. The vehicle was garaged for about two years and the cooling system ran water in it. The rust buildup due to the use of water had corrupted the cooling system. Block radiator and a leaking water pump prohibited the pressure. Once replaced radiator and water pump the system builds pressure. Unfortunately with the cooling system a clogged heater core is the cause as well. This is a good example why you should never leave just water in the system but only coolant.
