Hi everyone!
Wow it's been a while since we've posted on here. A friend told us we should update it more often so here we are. We've gone through a few changes and just thought it would be a good time to let everyone know.
For almost two decades we have been taking care of panel and paint work for mainly JDM cars because it aligns with our own interests. We've enjoyed doing everything from front end conversions on Silvias (sometimes Hondas !), smashed drift cars, full resprays, FT86 Rocket Bunny widebody kits every second week to Evos who prefer the Evo 9 rear bar. Whilst we still enjoy doing this type of work, we are finding it increasingly difficult to work out the balance between costs to cover ourselves and setting a 'reasonable price' for the customer.
In light of this, we will be trimming down the range of services that we offer. Fibreglass products are definitely the most time consuming with the least returns (actually mostly losses), so we will not be accepting any fibreglass work from here on out. Rust repairs are also not viable for us. There are definitely workshops out there who specialise in these areas and we can point you in their direction if needed.
We are also building up the other side of the business (Nakama Workshop), (which includes plastic reproduction kits for S15, and eventually S14, S13 and Type X) and an online shop for these and other products. The S15 Aero Kits are in stock, so you are more than welcome to purchase these (PM us !).
In short, please try not to bring us:
- Fibreglass body kits, fibreglass lip kits, or fibreglass widebody kits. We will accept the occasional spoiler.
- Rust repairs
- Full resprays that require a lot of work (fixing up rattle canned home spray jobs, poor previous panel work, drift cars that 'just need to look good from afar').
But please do bring us:
- Insurance smash repair work (for any type of car), where you are NOT at fault, OR you have choice of repairer with your insurance company. We offer courtesy cars for this type of work.
- Private smash repair work where you have scraped your door against a pole (or similar)
- Fitting jobs such as plastic lip kits, spoilers, canards
- Plastic or steel replacement panels, plastic body kits, plastic lip kits
- Full resprays: we will limit these to a few a year, but we have changed to a waterborne paint system to align with insurance standards and the cost of paint / materials has increased dramatically.
We will trial it for the rest of this year and reassess next year. Thank you for all your support, we do appreciate each and every one of you who has helped us get to where we are today. Now it's time to look after ourselves.
