Recently one of our judges got awarded with an award in honour of one of our great mates Jacob and someone who used to attend Musters.
Well done Trevor, we appreciate all the effort that you put into each muster - your efforts don’t go unrecognised!
Keep an eye out for details regarding each upcoming muster, we will have some details out soon regarding our muster in October ❤️
Yesterday we had a special moment in remembrance of Jacob Olson, as it had been a week since his passing. Some of you would remember him for his white Ford Ranger — which he somehow managed to blow up after putting the wrong fuel in it.
I’m still not sure how or why I trusted this man to work on my ute… but that was Jacob — always offering a hand and always keen to help out.
Not long before he passed, Jacob bought himself a Holden ute with plans to build a B&S ute. He wanted to start coming back to events again — whether it was a rodeo, a B&S, or a ute muster.
So not only were we donating the proceeds we raised to the Mark Hughes Foundation — a total of $366.85 — but I had also decided to introduce a special award in honour of Jacob.
This award recognises someone who always turns up to a ute muster — someone who might not necessarily win anything — but comes along to support the event, have a good time, and be part of the community.
Because that’s exactly the kind of bloke Jacob was.
The winner of Jacob’s Memorial Award was Trev. We all know Trev — he’s the heart and soul of our ute musters. Trev attends nearly every ute muster, sometimes travelling over two hours just to be there. He doesn’t even enter his ute, but he still makes a donation every time. He’s always offering a hand with judging and helping out wherever he can — and the list just goes on and on.
It was a really special moment, and one we’ll treasure for a lifetime. Jacob would of definitely approved of the Akurba too. 🤍🤍
