Today Jackie and I had the pleasure of meeting with some of the incredible volunteers from the Tweed District Rescue Squad at their Chinderah depot.

They showed us two new scene lights recently purchased with funding from our Chindy Cares program after receiving the most customer votes in our March–April community donation round.

The Tweed District Rescue Squad is made up of highly trained volunteers with specialist skills including road crash rescue, vertical rescue and domestic/industrial land search and rescue. They work alongside other emergency services to help keep our community safe whenever they’re needed.

A huge thank you to every member of the Tweed District Rescue Squad for your commitment, professionalism, and the countless hours you volunteer to protect and support our community. We are proud that Chindy Cares, together with our wonderful customers, could play a small part in supporting the amazing work you do. 💚

💛 Chindy Cares is proud to support the Tweed Hospital Auxiliary! 💛

The Tweed Hospital Auxiliary is run entirely by dedicated volunteers who raise much of their funding through the gift shop in the foyer of Tweed Valley Hospital. From beautifully hand-knitted baby clothes and hand towels to confectionery, gifts and more, every purchase helps raise funds for the hospital.

The Auxiliary uses these proceeds to purchase special medical equipment and patient care and comfort items that the hospital may not otherwise be able to provide due to limited budgets. Over the past six years, they have helped fund more than $700,000 worth of equipment, enabling Tweed Valley Hospital to provide additional services and vital healthcare for our local community.

Their incredible work relies on the generous support of local businesses and community members, and we are proud to have contributed $750 from May/June Chindy Cares towards their ongoing fundraising efforts. Thanks to everyone who placed a token in support of the Tweed Hospital Auxiliary. It was a very close round

💙 The votes are in for our latest round of Chindy Cares! Thank you to everyone who placed their tokens to vote for the causes that matter most - $3000 is donated every couple of months to local organizations making a real difference for people, animals and our community. We’re delighted to announce May/June results:

🏆 Winner ($1,500): Australian Seabird & Turtle Rescue (ASTR)
Wonderful work rescuing, rehabilitating and specialist care for sick and injured seabirds, turtles and other marine wildlife along our coast and throughout our region.

🥈 Runner-Up ($750): Tweed Hospital Auxiliary
Thank you to the amazing volunteers supporting patients and their families in the Tweed Valley Hospiral. Funds raised through the hospital gift shop help purchase much-needed medical equipment, patient care items and family support services.

🥈 Runner-Up ($750): Bogangar Public School P&C
The funds raised by the dedicated volunteer P&C support the local school community - from playground upgrades to student programs and community events.
