🌟 Chindy Cares 💛 Yahweh House was one of the amazing groups we supported through Chindy Cares, and were grateful to receive $750. Their team of dedicated volunteers provides practical help, encouragement, and care to vulnerable mums during some of the most challenging times in their lives — helping them feel safe, supported, and able to keep their babies.
Yahweh House is also working towards opening another home in the Tweed area, giving expectant mothers a safe place to stay throughout their pregnancy and until their baby is 6 months old. This support helps mums grow in confidence and feel secure in their journey into motherhood.

🌟 Chindy Cares 💛
Friends of the Pound Tweed received the most tokens from customers in our giving initiative for Jan/Feb and were presented with a cheque for $1500.
Michael and Finn met with Sonia and her team of dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly to care for local animals and help find them loving homes. It was a great day — we were made to feel incredibly welcome and were given a tour of their facility.

🌟Chindy Cares 💛 Michael and Chrissy recently met with Ross and the team from Beautiful Crazy, one of our Jan/Feb recipient causes.

Beautiful Crazy partners with hospitals locally and interstate, providing practical gift bags to support families with loved ones in ICU. These bags help meet essential needs and bring a little comfort during incredibly difficult times.

🌟 Chindy Cares 💛 — giving back to our community. For March–April, we’re proud to support three incredible local organisations:

🚑 Tweed District Rescue Squad (VRA) – volunteer rescuers who help keep our community safe.

🌿 River Tracks Tweed Valley – empowering local young people through nature-based programs.

🥫 Vibe Care Pantry – providing food and care for people in our community who need a helping hand.

HELPING KEEP FINGAL SPECIAL 🌱🪏

Finn and Michael went out to Fingal Coast Care and presented them with a $750 cheque as part of our Chindy Cares Program.
They spent the morning with Sam, Kate and Kay, along with a number of Fingal Coast Care’s dedicated volunteers, learning about the incredible work the group has been doing for over 40 years to protect, restore and regenerate the Fingal Head coastline. Their work focuses on preserving native vegetation, rehabilitating dunes and headlands, protecting wildlife habitats, and caring for the coastline so it can be enjoyed by future generations. The passion, knowledge and commitment of the team is truly inspiring.
During the morning, they helped plant paper daisies on the Fingal Headland, assisted with cleaning and maintaining walking paths, installed new fence posts, and shared a morning tea with the volunteers. It was a hands-on and meaningful experience.
Sam, Kate and Kay were absolutely beautiful and incredibly welcoming, and the volunteers were so generous with their time and knowledge. Finn and Michael both came away with a much deeper appreciation for the impact Fingal Coast Care has on the local community and environment.

💛CHINDY CARES 💛 Today we had the privilege of presenting a $1,500 cheque to Tweed Palliative Care (Wedgetail Retreat), received by Meredith and some of her incredible team.

Set in the rainforest of the Border Ranges, Wedgetail Retreat provides exceptional nursing care, comfort, and dignity to people at the end of life. Their compassion is truly inspiring and they receive no government funding, relying entirely on Op Shop sales and the generosity of the community. 🙏🏻

Through our Chindy Cares Giving Program, customers placed tokens into the containers of the causes they wanted to support and Tweed Palliative Care received the highest number of tokens.

The cause with the most tokens receives $1,500, while the other two receive $750 each — so every cause benefits 🌟

💠 BEAUTIFUL CRAZY – supplying care bags for families who are bedside with a loved one in 20 Hospital ICUs (including Tweed Valley and Gold Coast).
♦️ FRIENDS OF THE POUND – local animal rescue helping to rehome vulnerable dogs, cats and rabbits.

Big smiles today as we met part of the Women’s Resource Services team at Mullumbimby Neighbourhood Centre to present them with a $1,500 cheque from our Chindy Cares giving initiative 💛.
These funds will support their “Staying Home Leaving Violence” program, helping local women and families stay safe.
