Silvia Morris - RACV Driving Instructor *** Not currently taking lesson bookings *** Did you know the moment a learner driver gets their P-plates their crash rate increases by 30 times?

In their first 6 months of driving solo, P-platers have the highest crash and injury risk of all drivers. This is because they are often underprepared. Better education and tailored practice sessions will develop safe P-platers. In Victoria alone, the road trauma statistics are surprising; with over 10,000 people critically injured on our roads each year. This is something I am personally motivate

d to play a part in reducing. I deliver a comprehensive driver training curriculum to learners, using a coaching methodology to cater to every individual's learning style and journey to safe solo driving. I provide education to drivers so they can:

* understand, predict and manage the risks they face in all driving situations and environments

* make their own safe decisions on the road while they are learning to drive, so they can remain safe when they drive solo

* avoid accidents that are not only their fault, but the fault of other drivers

From 1 July, road rule 79A will be expanded to include more vehicles like accident towing, breakdown towing, roadside assistance and all incident response services.

When you see flashing lights roadside, you must slow down safely to 40km/h. Protect them so they can help you.

Although it may feel like you need some sort of degree to read some parking signs, it is important that you take the time to understand and comply with them.

Not complying with a parking sign means you are not only risking a hefty fine or having your vehicle towed away, but you may also be creating a road safety risk that puts other road users in danger.

Don’t let parking signs confuse you. Learn what to look out for on parking signs to make sure you don’t find a ticket under your wiper.

Victorians whose personal details were stolen in the Optus breach will be able to replace their driver’s licence online . Victorians will be able to get a new/replacement licence number and the chance to flag their licence record in case of future fraud.

“By flagging records the Department of Transport will prevent any unauthorised changes or access to individual information through the Victorian licence database,” the department said.

Victorians whose personal details were stolen in the Optus hack will be able to replace their driver’s licence online after the state government requested that the tel...

Under unsafe2safe, up to 1000 eligible young, regional Victorians will receive a $5000 subsidy to purchase a newer, safer vehicle from a participating dealer.

Buying a newer, safer car can be costly, especially for young drivers. Young drivers are over-represented in road trauma data – and that’s why the unsafe2safe trial program to help young drivers access safer vehicles is really important.

Applications for the trial open on 10 August 2022, and close on 4 September 2022.

Confused about hook turns? then this is for you...

We like to think of hook turns as something distinctly ‘Melbourne’, but the traffic rule has been implemented around the world for decades.
