Fantastic to receive this review of our Stockman Extreme Off-Road Pod Trailer from Alan & Gill Napier.
We just wanted to let you know that we have just completed 55,000km of Outback travel / camping with our POD Extreme trailer and it hasn't missed a beat. The capability of these trailers to go anywhere that our 4WD can go has really allowed us to venture into parts of our great country that would have been impossible if we had been towing a caravan or larger camper trailer. The POD has enabled us to carry all of the provisions, tools, spares and camping kit needed for our Eastern Half Lap (6 mth trip) and our recent Western Half Lap (7.5 mth trip).
The POD is built to handle the extreme outback / off-road tracks that we have travelled across all States and Territories. The light weight of the trailer, solid frame, POD construction, coupled with the robust independent suspension and DO35 hitch has made it a breeze to tow. We have kitted the trailer out with drawer slides, and capability to carry additional 140lts of drinking water, and 40lts diesel to meet the demands of long haul offroad trips. Impressively, the gear we have carried and stored in the POD all stayed in place despite the crazy corrugated roads we have been travelling over, testament to the suspension.
As you know, we have used two types of Roof Top Tents across our trips, securing a lighter RTT onto the lid rails for our Eastern Half Lap of OZ, and then upscaling to the raised RTT rails for our recent Western Half Lap, either way the storage in the POD has worked well for us, especially since we installed the drawers. The dust seals have managed to keep the red stuff out of the POD storage areas, which is a feat in itself, but the outer sections are understandably still presenting us with the outback red afterglow!
Anyway, I have attached some photos from the trip for you to use as you wish... and to have as a showcase of what this trailer has achieved.
Thanks for all your team's support and for the impressive trailer that you have all produced.
Well done!
Cheers
Alan and Gill Napier
