Fresh paint finished in its original colour combination of Sable Brown over a creamy Beige leather Interior also recently refreshed. It's original owner the late William C Kennedy owner and founder of Redex Industries, named his company after the great Redex trials-the around Australia Reliability trials. Whilst visiting his uncle in 1953, Henry Dighton, the driver of car #54 in the race around Australia in his teens, he was inspired and custom ordered his Etype to include every factory option on offer at the time. 16 years after the Redex trials in 1969 William honored his uncle and named the company Redex, after the great race that shook the Australian nation. After the company grossed millons on its popular Moo Goo product, sold around the world including in Australia, he insisted on ordering the car in a deep dark sable brown with beige interior to resemble the Australian bush and mud tracks we witnessed that day. The car his uncle drove was a Jaguar 3 1/2, a precursor to the 3.8L engine that would be found 8 years later in the first etype. Turning the automotive industry on its head upon its introduction in 1961, Jaguar’s E-Type was nothing short of the most spectacular car the world had seen in the post-war era. Even Enzo Ferrari declared the E-type ‘the most beautiful car in the world’ as Jaguar proved yet again that it was one of the world’s top manufacturers of sports cars. What was perhaps more impressive was the E-Type’s performance. It boasted a 0–60 mph time of 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 150 mph. Built on the 24th of October 1969 as one of the first etypes to offer power steering, and 3 speed auto transmission chassis no. 42943 was finished in Sable Brown with a creamy Beige interior. The car was delivered new to via Jaguar Cars in New York to William in Ohio, having been dispatched less than a month later on 21st of November 1969 as per its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate. It remained there, barely seeing the outside if his garage as it was used only on the road when the Kennedy family took it to their summer holiday house in the Hamptons. Clocking less than 60,000 original miles. The E-Type remained off the road for roughly the next three decades before it was purchased by its current owner as a restoration project and imported to Australia. Said to be a rust-free example when purchased by the consignor, it was the perfect candidate for a restoration, the restoration took just under 16 months and utilised original parts wherever possible. It is impressively documented with pictures and accompanied by invoices accounting for the work done. The original engine and transmission were retained, and it was refreshed to its original sable brown over beige leather, the car presents wonderfully throughout as a very original example of Jaguar’s most iconic car. Beautifully restored to its seldom-seen and eye-catching colour scheme, this is an E-Type not to be missed.

When Micheal Nesmith of the monkeys made it big the first thing he bought was a Sable brown E-type 2+2, that’s the kind the timeless appeal these classics have. now my own cherished 1969 Sable Brown E-type is ready for it’s next chapter. You don’t have to be a Rockstar to enjoy one. A Goal is just a dream with a deadline. Get yours today. Price Guidance $135,000.

My very first car bought with my “Guess Who” money, a chocolate brown 1969 Jaguar XK-E 2+2 with cinnamon interior. Not too many of those driving around Winnipeg back then. I only kept it for a couple of years before trading it in for something better suited for those long winters.

NOTE: There is no body damage on the car. It is just an old photo that has distortion to it.
