Driving too fast is the single biggest contributor to death and injury on NSW roads. Each year, speeding contributes to about 42% of road fatalities and 25% of serious injuries. Almost 128 lives are lost and 1050 people are seriously injured each year.

Speeding is never safe. Speed increases the risk of having a crash, as well as the severity of the crash.

The faster you go the more:

🔵 severe the impact of a crash

Skoda Peaq 2026 review: Bold new EV makes mark in 7-seat SUV segment with 600km+ driving range

John Mahoney drives the 2026 Skoda Peaq, the brand's first seven-seat electric SUV and new flagship. Globally, the range spans the rear-drive 60 and 90 and the dual-motor 90x, with Australian grades and pricing yet to be confirmed. This review covers design, cabin space, technology and how it drives.

At almost 4.9 metres long, the Peaq is the largest Skoda yet. Design follows the brand's Modern Solid language, with a horizontal light band on upper grades. Inside is a 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen. Boot space is 299 litres with all seven seats in use and 935 litres in five-seat mode, plus a 37-litre frunk.

On the road, John assesses ride comfort, refinement and real-world range from the larger 86kWh battery, which claims more than 640km on the WLTP cycle. He also measures the Peaq's space, charging and value against key seven-seat electric rivals including the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9, Tesla Model Y L and Peugeot e-5008.
