Going to meet at The Pialligo Bakesmith at 10:30 for an 11am departure for a ride to Captains Flat. Lunch at the Captains Flat Hotel.

Vespa in for an issue today and we have just noticed that a piece of the wheel is missing!

What is amazing is that it is holding air.

Scooter ride this Sunday 9 August

I’ve made it back into Australia and this Sundays ride will be leaving the McDonalds at EPIC in Mitchell at 11am.

The ride is suitable for smaller scooters and will stay in Canberra - 1st stop, Mount Ainslie lookout.

On my way to the airport from Cambodia’s Siem Reap.
Lots of 3 wheelers. Piaggio started the Ape (or Bee in English) with a small tray on the back of a Vespa.
The cuerrent model driving around here is the Ape City. There are a lot of the Bajaj RE, a copy, and a different brand the TVS.
The biggest is the Bajaj Maxima with the bench seat and two small seats in the back.
(For those who travel in Thailand the Tuk Tuk also evolved from the Ape)

Jumped on my Yellow hired Vespa to take a photo of this scooter driving past because I couldn’t believe the load.
I caught up when they pulled up at a roadside service centre. Then saw the additional rear shocks - went to take a photo - then saw the awesome rear wheel reinforcement.
Then I saw the additional aftermarket cooling system. Hose coming off a long blue pipe dripping water onto the engine.
This scooter was carrying a girl - a guy with a disability (probably family member) the rider and more stock that you could imagine.
The mechanic repaired the centrestand which was hanging and being held up with a price of string and the charge was 2000reals $0.70 - I stopped the girl from paying and I did it in pure awe at these guys courage.

It really is the Wild West here, the RTA would have a fit!
Take a scooter or small bike, fit a pivot point and build a carriage for the back.
Depends on the tray you can take 4 (or more) passengers or maybe a work Ute tray!

I’m in Vietnam until August 4!
I have visited some shops and in Hanoi it is easy to get stuff for modern Vespas - not so much for Vintage!
