A big thank you to ATE and for bringing Doug from ATE out to provide advanced brake training to the Anthony Costello Automotive team.

ATE’s OE partnerships with leading vehicle manufacturers give our technicians direct insight into the latest braking technologies and the future direction of the industry. As the car parc continues to evolve into electric vehicles and Euro 7 emissions standards approach, the focus is shifting beyond exhaust emissions to tyre and brake particulate reduction.

It was incredibly valuable to hear firsthand how braking technology is adapting to meet these new challenges, and to see some of the innovative concepts currently being modelled and tested by manufacturers. We suspect we may even see the return of fully enclosed drum brake units, similar to those currently used in the Volkswagen ID range, as manufacturers look for new ways to reduce brake particulate emissions.

The transition toward fully electric braking systems also appears to be arriving much sooner than many expected.

These advancements highlight the growing importance of ongoing training and education within the automotive industry. Modern braking systems are evolving rapidly, and ensuring your vehicle is serviced by properly trained specialists has never been more important.
