I received this commission on the back of the Mustang and Spitfire image I posted up last year.
This time - a first gen Dodge Viper and an SR-71 Blackbird. It's an interesting combo and both are iconic in their own ways. There really wasn't any other way to do them justice than an action shot.

With Christmas not too far away I'm busy working on commissions. So in the meantime, here's a personal project of mine.
Dream car stuff right here - the R34 GTR in Bayside Blue. With the way the market is going, both in terms of cost and foreign demand these are basically unobtainium status items which in a way takes away some of the appeal. They were always somewhat attainable - now they're trading hands for supercar money. Still... maybe one day...
Playing around again with darker themes - pretty happy with the end result.

Yet another Mustang - I seem to find myself drawing a lot of these lately, they really are such an iconic car.
For this one I played around with some different effects and techniques to craft something a little different to usual.

The Datsun 240ZG - I love these cars - I'm lucky enough to have a Z car of my own but sadly it doesn't look this cool. 🤷...

A Toyota MA70 Supra - this one was a request as a gift for the partner of a family friend and one that really resonated with me.
The owner has a lot of passion for his car but limited funds - meaning that he has prioritised performance over aesthetics.
What I love about this is that as a result, his car has so much character and is so unique.

My brief for this commission was simple, a Ford Mustang and a Spitfire plane.

Initially I played around with some static concepts - the car parked near the plane; plenty of photos floating around on the internet of similar. But then I thought, why not an action shot? Why not inject a little bit of fantasy in there, do something that's near impossible to coordinate outside of a 'Top Gear' shoot - and hence the concept for this one was born.

This one was a challenge especially with the plane, but I was thrilled with the outcome.

Something a little different - a Boss 302 Mustang pictured by sunset.
I wanted to captured the light burning out and reflecting on the paint work, shifting the colours.
Has to be my favourite image to date!
