Father's Day is next Sunday, and we have our team of dads right here.

Someone's dad has mentioned his tyres are "probably alright." They are usually not alright.

If you're stuck for what to get him: a set of tyres is unromantic, but he will think about you every time it rains for the next four years. Or bring his car in for a free check and we'll tell you both what it actually needs — no pressure either way.

Cold mornings are when batteries give up. We're at the end of winter, which is exactly when we see the most of them.

Here's the thing about a car battery: it doesn't warn you. It works fine, and then one morning it doesn't, and you're standing in your driveway at 7am ringing someone.

A test takes five minutes and tells you whether you've got a season left in it or not. We do it free — every car that comes through here gets one whether you ask or not.

We were recently recognised as top 5 in the JAX network for battery testing, which we're quietly pretty pleased about. Nobody should be stuck on the side of the road for something that could've been picked up in five minutes.

She's the one who picks up when you ring.

If you've booked a car in here, you've spoken to Beth. She's the one who explains what it actually needs, chases the part that's running late, and rings you back when she says she will.

Most of what people notice happens on the hoist. A fair bit of it happens at the front desk.
