At Hypergear, we carry and custom make a comprehensive range of UHF (Ultra High Flow) turbine wheels to suit a wide variety of Garrett ball bearing turbochargers.

One of our latest jobs involved rebuilding and high flowing a Garrett GT3582R, upgrading it to UHF G35-900 specification.

UHF turbine wheels are designed to improve the power-to-boost ratio, reduce exhaust backpressure, and deliver stronger top-end performance compared to conventional turbine wheel designs. Performance gains will vary depending on the compressor wheel, turbine housing, and overall turbocharger configuration.

📈 The dyno graph attached highlights the benefits of the UHF turbine design. Testing on an R33 Skyline RB25/30DET equipped with a G30-900 turbocharger showed a gain of 16kW at the wheels when compared to the standard Garrett 9-blade turbine wheel in the same size and wheel radius. While our inhouse UHF57-900 made an extra 92kws in comparison.

At HyperGear Turbochargers, continuous research, development, and real-world testing are at the core of everything we do, particularly within the Nissan RB performance platform.

One of our latest build is our ATR43SS-3 turbocharger, engineered specifically for high-performance RB25DET applications. Utilising a T3 .63 A/R turbine housing, the ATR43SS-3 offers outstanding boost response while maintaining the airflow capacity required to support 500rwkw (tested on hub dyno).

Back-to-back testing against off shelf G30-series turbochargers has shown the ATR43SS-3 delivers boost response comparable to a G30-770 while producing 30kws more than a G30-900 in the same platform (built RB2530det engine) using E85 fuel

From compressor and turbine housing machining to suit larger wheel combinations, custom wheel radius profile grinding, shaft resizing and grinding, custom bearing manufacturing, centre housing machining, and many other precision operations, we have the equipment and experience to get the job done properly.

A recent job involved assisting an Audi TTRS owner who was experiencing compressor surge as the turbocharger came onto boost. To help improve airflow stability and reduce surge, we machined anti-surge ports into the factory compressor housing. This modification can significantly reduce compressor surge under certain operating conditions, resulting in smoother turbocharger performance and improved drivability.

HyperGear rebuilds, ball bearing converts, and high-flows a wide range of turbochargers for European performance vehicles.

This recent project was completed for a BMW S55-powered F80 M3 featuring the 3.0L twin-turbo engine.

Upgrades carried out include:

- In-house built CHRAs
- Upsized compressor wheels
- Upsized turbine wheels
- Ball bearing conversion utilising the factory bearing housings
- Compressor and turbine housings profile machined to suit the larger wheel package
- T51R-modified compressor housings

The upgraded turbochargers retain the factory mounting position and connect directly to the original oil and water lines, making installation straightforward.

With the right supporting modifications, fuel system, and tuning, these high-flow units are capable of producing up to 700whp.

Exchange units are available for immediate delivery.

Another major project completed and heading out the door after two weeks of development. These are custom-built externally gated R35 GT-R turbochargers featuring our in-house built G30-660 CHRAs.
