Sometimes you look at a job and think, “Is this really worth fixing? Maybe we should just replace it.” 🤔
That was exactly what we thought when this flywheel came in for machining this week.
Col decided to give it a quick machine and see if he could bring it back to life. His persistence certainly paid off — even we were amazed at the result! 👏🔧

One of today's jobs was fitting a new alternator to a classic MG.
Unfortunately, we couldn't source the exact replacement, so a few wiring modifications were needed to make everything work correctly.
While testing the charging system, we discovered a voltage drop at one of the original wiring terminals. The existing wiring used standard crimp terminals, so we upgraded them with high-quality terminals that were professionally crimped and soldered, ensuring a strong, reliable connection with no more voltage loss.
It's all part of the attention to detail we take with every repair, whether it's a classic vehicle or the latest model.

A bit of a different job for Col over the last few days!
We don't see too many Commodores in the workshop anymore, but this one came in with camshaft and crankshaft correlation fault codes stored in the ECU.
After diagnosing the issue, the culprit was a stretched timing chain. Replacing the timing chain restores correct engine timing and helps prevent more serious engine damage down the track.
If your vehicle has an engine warning light on or isn't running quite right, don't ignore it. Getting it checked early can save you from a much bigger repair later.
