Sometimes you look at a job and think, “Is this really worth fixing? Maybe we should just replace it.” 🤔
That was exactly what we thought when this flywheel came in for machining this week.
Col decided to give it a quick machine and see if he could bring it back to life. His persistence certainly paid off — even we were amazed at the result! 👏🔧
It just goes to show that sometimes it pays to give something a chance before automatically replacing it.
If you have a flywheel, brake rotors or brake drums that need machining, the team at Pelican Motors Service Centre can help.
📞 Call us on 5491 3234 and we’ll get you sorted.

🔧 Not every vehicle fault is straightforward to diagnose.

Sometimes a warning light will only appear occasionally, or a fault can be difficult to pinpoint. That’s when you need to look a little deeper to find the real cause.
At Pelican Motors Service Centre, we have the training, knowledge, experience and specialised diagnostic equipment to investigate and diagnose even some of the more challenging vehicle faults.
So, if you have a warning light that keeps coming on, comes and goes, or simply won’t go away, don’t ignore it.
📞 Give the team at Pelican Motors Service Centre a call and let us help find the fault.

🚗 Is your TPMS warning light on.

At Pelican Motors Service Centre, we can help.
Sometimes it's as simple as resetting the system after a flat tyre, while other times a faulty tyre pressure sensor may need to be diagnosed and replaced.
If you've recently had your tyres rotated, the TPMS sensors may also need to be reconfigured in your vehicle's ECU so the system can correctly identify each wheel.
At Pelican Motors Service Centre, we have the specialised equipment, training, and experience to diagnose, reset, and program your TPMS system correctly.
If your TPMS light is staying on, give us a call on (07) 5491 3234 or book your vehicle in today.
We'll get you back on the road with confidence.

Brake Rotor & Brake Drum Machining – A Service We Provide In-House

Did you know that brake rotors and brake drums don't always need replacing when you fit new brake pads or brake shoes?

In many cases, machining them is the best option. Machining provides a clean, even surface for the new brake pads or shoes to bed into properly, helping to eliminate annoying brake noise, improve braking performance, and maximise the life of your new brake components.

At Pelican Motors Service Centre, we provide professional brake rotor and brake drum machining in-house, along with complete brake servicing for all makes and models. We use quality parts and take pride in delivering workmanship you can trust.

Your brakes are one of the most important safety systems on your vehicle, so don't settle for inferior parts or workmanship.

If your brakes aren't feeling quite right, or you'd simply like them inspected for peace of mind, give us a call on (07) 5491 3234 or click the link below to book your vehicle in. Our experienced team is here to help keep you safe on the road.

One of today's jobs was fitting a new alternator to a classic MG.
Unfortunately, we couldn't source the exact replacement, so a few wiring modifications were needed to make everything work correctly.
While testing the charging system, we discovered a voltage drop at one of the original wiring terminals. The existing wiring used standard crimp terminals, so we upgraded them with high-quality terminals that were professionally crimped and soldered, ensuring a strong, reliable connection with no more voltage loss.
It's all part of the attention to detail we take with every repair, whether it's a classic vehicle or the latest model.
If you're having problems with your vehicle—old or new—the team at Pelican Motors Service Centre is here to help.
