Had a forklift stuck in bottom gear, ECU was flashing a tr**ny output speed code,

Found the speed sensor only just hanging in there! Bare wires had touched, which was shorting out. Managed to trim the wires back close enough, resolder and heatshrink.

Unfortunately wasn't the only problem causing the tr**ny to be stuck in low gear as there was also a solenoid that was not happy. Dealer quoted $1300 each one! Made a few phone calls to our suppliers and we're able to get them quoted at a much more reasonable $550 - little suckers must be filled with gold.

Last week we had a machine with what looked to be a casting defect in number 6 cylinder head.
Overnight water from the cooling system filled the exhaust manifold. When the machine was attempted to be started it did what is referred to as a 'hydrolock'. This is when fluid (normally water/coolant) enters a cylinder, valves close and the piston attempts to compress the liquid normally resulting in an odd shaped con-rod and a hefty repair bill.
Fortunately the operator stopped immediately and gave us a call. We diagnosed the fault and were able to replace the head with another head from an 'organ donor' engine the customer had and source other required parts to get the machine going again with the biggest delays being freight of parts from eastern states.

One of our customers machines had low power and would throw a intermittent 'E03 - Call dealer' error code which would put the machine into a reduced power/limp mode. The machine could be restarted which would suspend the code and allow the machine to operate normally however once put under load the error code would return and the machine again put into limp mode.

A quick diagnoses found that 2 of the 4 gauze screens in the banjo fittings before the fuel pump were nearly completely blocked limiting the amount of fuel to the fuel pump. We were able to clean the screens and run the remaining fuel in the tank through a filter to ensure there was no repeat of blocked screens. We were able to get the machine back to work with less than an hours downtime.
