We refused to road test this vehicle. The customer didn't understand why....😩 I would hazard that the vehicle hasn't had too much tender loving care.

The Discovery Sport will end production at the end of this year. It wasn't my favourite model as I didn't think it was a worthy replacement to the Freelander 2. But what really killed its reputation was that abomination of an engine. The 2.0L Diesel Ingenium. A disgrace.
I do look forward to the Defender Sport. Now that does sound promising.

We see some funny things. This particular customer come in and said he had his window fixed but it still isn't working. Oh dear! Note the paint brush that's holding the glass up.

The baby Defender is making more noise. The Defender Sport is due in 2027. It's on a completely new platform and will be the the first EV Defender in its line up. Just not sure if it will also be available in ICE. I think it certainly looks better than the Discovery Sport.

This is a great day out. There are live demonstrations, a fantastic 4WD track, heaps of exhibitors and excellent food. Sunday will be perfect weather for it as well.

The new Defender has been doing quite well in the first half of the Dakar. In fact, many of the Land Rovers competing are right up there in their class.

Land Rover is entering the Dakar in a Defender D7X-R. It is based on the Octa and complies with FIA's stock category rules. The twin turbo V8 4.4L remains unchanged, as does the drive train. There are modifications to make it more "desert" proof. So a larger fuel tank, better approach and departure angles, bigger tyres, larger brakes etc.
There's even a "Flight" mode to protect the running gear when the vehicle gets airborne.
It will be great to see how they go.
