Another tough TD42 build completed at JPT Autos!
Izumi pistons coated

Dyno tuned at PowerHouse Engines. Fueling was bang on as to be expected from a JP Performance & Dyno Tuning pump. Timing was initially set at 0.68 with a dial indicator. A bit of advancement on the timing saw about a 10hp gain leaving us at 176hp at the wheel on 35s. We did a run on 31s out of curiosity to see how much power the 35s soak up and we had an increase in power of 15% to 202hp. This is a conservative safe tune, Boost was set at 24psi and 20:1 AFR.

Had this nice GU Patrol in for some over heating problems. After some quick diagnosis it was found to have combustion gas in the cooling system.
Off came the head and we found the head gasket blown on cylinder 3. The head was sent away for crack and hardness testing which all passed.
We fitted a new genuine head gasket and some ARP head studs as this beast was running a ZL30 turbo at 30psi.
While it was all apart we replaced the cooling system (TB48 78deg thermostat) with all genuine parts except for the radiator which was done by the customer prior.
We also had the injectors tested, new glow plugs and fitted some inconel exhaust studs.
The beast is running as cool as ever, only reaches 83deg under heavy load and quickly recovers back down to 78-79deg.

At JPT Autos we don’t only maintain cars, we also maintain dirt bikes!
This KTM 400EXC. Came in to us after sitting around for a few years with a no start condition.
After removing the carby and disassembling it we found it to have a lot of dirt and old stale fuel in it.
The accelerator pump diaphragm also had a hole in it so the bike lacked acceleration.
After rebuilding the carby we gave the old girl a good service and it ran as good as new.
We also changed the fork seals and rear tyre.

D40 Navara came in to us with a coolant leak from the head gasket. Upon removal the head was found to be cracked between glow plug hole and valve so we decided the best repair would be to replace the head with a quality AMC unit. We also replaced the injectors as 2 were completely seized in the old head. We replaced the exhaust manifold and EGR cooler as they were both cracked. We also installed a brand new genuine thermostat, water pump, fan belt and powersteering belt. Glow plugs were replaced as the tip was broken off one of them.
The Navara now has a new lease on life 😎🔧

Some nice upgrades on this prado! 2” lift kit, safari snorkel and a nice set of Yokohama X-AT 265/70r17 tyres.
Koni shocks and kings springs used in the lift. The Konis have adjustable rebound so you can tune them to suit your spring rate. They give a fantastic ride and are built tough!
Snorkel is a quality Australian made safari snorkel. Great fitment. We smoke test the airbox and snorkel after installation to guarantee no water will enter during river crossings.
