BIGGER ISN’T ALWAYS BETTER… 👀
When it comes to carburettor jets, the right size matters.
This outboard came into the workshop flooding, struggling to reach higher RPM and not running correctly. After some investigating, we found an incorrectly sized carburettor jet was allowing too much fuel through, creating an overly rich fuel mixture and causing the engine to choke under load.
It might only be a tiny component, but the jet plays an important role in controlling the amount of fuel delivered through the carburettor.
Too big = too much fuel
Too small = not enough fuel
Right size = correct fuel flow ✅
We replaced the incorrect jet with the correct size, tuned and tested the engine, and she’s now running good as gold 🔧
