Alchemy Charge won Outstanding Sustainable Initiative at the 2026 Parking Industry Awards at Swissotel Sydney on Wednesday night.

SmartPoint started with a simple belief: the best place to charge a car is where it already sits. It is a pay per use power outlet that runs on the 10 and 15 amp infrastructure a car park already has, so a building can go from no charging to charging in every space without a new supply, significant upgrades or being locked to a single network.

This one belongs to our team. SmartPoint is designed and made in Australia, and every unit out there exists because of you. It also belongs to our partners, who backed an open, interoperable approach when it would have been easier not to, and to every building, operator and installer who put a SmartPoint in and let us prove this works.

Congratulations to the other finalists in our category: Parking Spotz, Foton and Arrive ANZ. Between us, we are working on solar, storage, reservations and charging. Sustainable parking is a whole system and it was good to be in the room with the people building the rest of it.

We're proud to share that Alchemy Charge SmartPoint has been recognised with a 2026 Australian Good Design Award.

For nearly seven decades, the Good Design Australia awards have recognised products that demonstrate excellence in design, innovation and impact, making this recognition a significant milestone for everyone involved in bringing SmartPoint to life.

SmartPoint was created to solve a challenge faced by the 4.2 million Australians living in apartments and shared residential buildings. Rather than requiring more power or costly electrical upgrades, SmartPoint adds intelligent control, billing, monitoring and load management to the power already available within a building, helping make EV charging more accessible where people live.

As Alchemy Charge co-founder and CEO Yasemin Selvi puts it: These buildings do not need more power. They need a smarter way to share the power they already have, and a fair way for each driver to pay for what they use.
