What do guests actually need to charge at an airbnb? Less than most people think.

A 10 amp SmartPoint delivers 2.4 kW. Same as the ordinary powerpoint already sitting in the garage except it measures in real-time for safety and usage.

If a guest plugged in at 8pm, and checked out at 11am, that's 15 hours and 36 kWh.

So a guest arriving on 20 percent in a 70 kWh car leaves on 71 percent, a gain of 51 percent or 200 km. A second night fills the battery.

A 7 kW Level 2 unit gets there on the first night instead of the second. From two nights up there is no difference between a SmartPoint and a Level 2 charger.
What changes is your side of it. Level 1 is a much faster return on investment, simpler to install and simpler to manage ongoing.

Most EVs come with a 10 amp portable charger in the boot, so the guest already has the portable charger.

What happens to Auto Charge when the building's internet goes down?

Nothing. SmartPoint is always on. The driver plugs in and charges, the session records itself and sends through when the internet is back.

Another day, another paddock.

On Saturday June 7th, Alchemy Charge is heading to Zestiny Farm on the NSW Central Coast as an event partner at the Big BBQ, where 400 people will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest BBQ cooking lesson in history.

We are powering the electric grills on the day using V2L through our BYD Shark 6, the vehicle's own battery will be powering the BBQ's!

A paddock, an electric ute, and a world record attempt. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.
