The ACCC has commenced proceedings in the Federal Court against Subaru (Aust) Pty Ltd (Subaru Australia) for allegedly failing to give independent car repairers equal access to the information they need to repair Subaru cars.

As most of you know Len is an accredited inspector for QCAT for civil motor vehicle disputes. We have again won a case for an Applicant this time against LDV under the lemon laws here is an excerpt from the Adjudicators decision which has recently been published:
"His ultimate conclusions, which I accept are as follows:
Unfortunately for the Applicants they have purchased what is commonly known in the industry as a "lemon" The vehicle is not fit for purpose and has not been since only having driven it 5,000kms from new.

LDV are currently in court proceedings with Australian Competition and Consumer Commission ("ACCC") for misleading consumers, like the Applicant, on the durability of the LDVT60 ute.

According to the ACCC the T60 and G1 O vehicles had the likelihood to develop rust and corrosion within the first 5 years despite having a 1 O year anti-corrosion warranty and the T60 and G1 O vehicles were not durable and "tough" as implied in their marketing material. LDV advertise these vehicles for being "suitable for use in, near, or on a variety of environments and off-road terrains" including pictures of the ute carrying out a water crossing with water levels up to the rear step, front bumper and halfway up the tyres.

The vehicle comes equipped with high low 4wd, diff locks etc for the purposes of being used off road"
