We travelled out to Dulacca, QLD to sort ongoing issues with a Schramm drill rig running a 12V2000 MTU engine- and got it back doing what it’s paid to do.

On arrival, the rig had multiple electrical faults affecting performance and reliability. After systematic fault-finding, we:

Temporary Closure Notice

Due to a recent serious shoulder injury and reconstructive surgery, I will be temporarily stepping away from work to focus on recovery and rehabilitation.

🔧 Reseal & Root Cause Repair – DAF CF75
This DAF CF75 came in with what appeared to be a rear main seal leak — but with trained eyes and real diagnostic expertise, we uncovered the actual fault.

The real issue? A failed dowel in the engine block caused the flywheel housing to fret, eventually leading to a chemical seal failure and oil escaping through the dowel hole. A less experienced approach might’ve stopped at just replacing the rear seal — but that would’ve meant the leak returned.

Wow, what a day in Melbourne!
We had the opportunity to visit the Ryco Filter R&D lab, and it was nothing short of incredible. Seeing firsthand the level of detail and rigorous testing that goes into developing their aftermarket filtration systems has been a real eye-opener.

From simulated engine environments to flow bench testing, Ryco puts their filters through some seriously tough conditions to ensure performance, durability, and reliability under extreme conditions. One of the highlights was checking out the V8 Supercar air induction system they’ve developed — built for high-performance airflow and ultimate engine protection.
