🏁 70 YEARS OF QUEENSLAND COMPACT SPEEDCAR RACING 🏁
1956–2026 | Celebrating 70 Years of History, Champions & Racing Excellence
This season marks an incredible milestone for the Queensland Compact Speedcar Club as we celebrate 70 years of Compact Speedcar racing in Queensland.
Since our establishment in 1956, generations of drivers, officials, volunteers, sponsors and families have built a proud legacy that continues to grow today.
The Australian National Championship has showcased some of the sport's greatest competitors over the past five decades. From our inaugural Australian Champion Max Kiddle (NSW) in 1978/79 through legendary names such as Ron Hutchinson, Glenn Dobbin, Danny Stainer, Justin Paull, and Queensland stars John McFarlane, Julie Vine, Darren Dillon, Richard Mules, Harry Stewart, and Queensland's most decorated Australian Champion Darren Vine, our history is filled with remarkable achievements.
The latest chapter was written in 2025/26, when Aston Rodriguez delivered a dominant performance to win the Australian Compact Speedcar Championship at Bundaberg Speedway, holding off fellow champion Justin Paull in a thrilling battle to claim Australian honours and further cement his name is compact speedcar history books.
Over the years, the Australian Championship has been won by drivers from across Australia and overseas:
🏆 New South Wales – 15 Championships
🏆 Queensland – 13 Championships
🏆 Victoria – 11 Championships
🏆 USA – 2 Championships
There have also been two seasons where the Australian Championship could not be decided due to weather (2006/07 and 2020/21) and one season cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic (2019/20), making every championship all the more special.
As we celebrate our past, we're just as excited about what lies ahead.

The new season promises another exciting year of Compact Speedcar racing with events across Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

🌏 Away Series rounds at Maryborough, Bundaberg, Kingaroy, Lismore and Grafton
🏆 The Presidents Cup at Lismore
👑 The Queensland Title at Kingaroy on 13 March 2027
🌟 The Paul Messer Memorial at Maryborough
🎉 Plenty of close, exciting racing as our drivers battle for season honours.
🎊 70th Anniversary Dinner
As part of this historic season, we are proud to announce that our 70th Anniversary Dinner will be held during the Queensland Title weekend at Kingaroy.
It will be a fantastic opportunity for past and present drivers, officials, members, sponsors and supporters to come together, share stories, celebrate our incredible history and look forward to the future of Compact Speedcars.
