Suncoast needs to shout out a huge thanks to Nathan Simeoni, our hugely talented tuner who time after time makes us look great with his amazing work. Today a great friend of ours we helped with his build had it up on the hubs while SMW Tuning spent hours putting together a full custom tune and mapping out future mods. Flawless.

Rhys’s Time Attack weapon back on the dyno for a check-over after a new cam profile and a bit of a head tickle! 🔥

The main goal was to see exactly what the changes have done, where the gains are through the powerband and, most importantly, how the response has improved.

Being a 2.6L, this thing sounds absolutely unreal at full noise. We spent plenty of time doing long, heavy-load ramps, trying to simulate the sustained load the engine sees from the aero when the car is cutting laps at speed.

For a Time Attack car, it’s not just about chasing a peak number it’s about looking at the data, improving response and making power in the areas of the rev range that actually translate into faster lap times.

The data from the cam change and head work is looking awesome, and the improvement through the band should make this thing an absolute weapon around the track. 🏁

This spicy little RB25/30 is getting some run-in K’s under its belt and a bit of boost through it to iron out any niggles before it hits the hub dyno! 🔥

Already cranking out 500+hp on low boost on the rollers, which is a bloody good sign of where this combo is heading.

Sporting a Garrett G42 turbocharger along with a few other tasty supporting mods, there’s definitely plenty left in it.

Sadly, we uncovered a few issues during the run-in and testing that need to be addressed first. Once they’re sorted, it’ll be back on the hubs for the proper tune and we’ll start leaning on it.

The goal? That nice four-digit mark. 😈

🔥 1.5JZ R32 - 724HP & BUILT FOR RESPONSE 🔥

Got this gangsta 1.5JZ-powered R32 tuned up and absolutely alive! 💨

724HP on E85 @ 24.4psi - but outright power wasn’t the main goal with this one.

Being primarily a drift car, the focus was response, transitional boost and throttle behaviour. We spent the time getting the car to build as much boost as possible across different throttle positions and load points, giving it seriously aggressive transitional response and getting it back into the powerband as quickly as possible.

From there, we dialled in the throttle calibration to make it sharp, snappy and lively. The idea is simple: when you tap that throttle, you want the car to respond NOW. ⚡️

The end result is 724HP up top, but more importantly, a car that feels alive everywhere and is ready to light the tyres the second the driver asks for it.

Here’s a good one - a stock FG Barra making 800hp on 24psi through a Precision 8385.

The setup delivers a strong, smooth power curve without being overly laggy. Keeping the torque curve flat and controlled should also help preserve the factory rods.

We considered pushing it to 900hp, but decided 800hp would be more than enough fun while keeping the combination sensible.

The car runs gear-based boost targeting, with a keypad button allowing the driver to adjust the boost target, choose which gears become more aggressive, and control how quickly the power comes in. This gives it the best possible chance of hooking up and going fast instead of simply spinning the tyres.

It also has all the usual engine protection strategies and safety functions, while still driving just like a factory FG on the Haltech ECU.

Check out this incredible example of a Midnight Purple II R34 GT-R V-Spec an exceptionally rare car that we’ve been lucky enough to build and work on alongside MJS Garage.

The freshly built Nitto engine has now been installed and run in, producing 470 hp at 19 psi on pump fuel through the period-correct HKS T04Z setup.

The combination also features a full range of engine protection sensors, a Godzilla Motorsport trigger kit, a half-grouted block and a Link plug-in ECU.

An amazing result for such a special car, with plenty more to come. Keep an eye out for the full build post from MJS Garage.
