Finding a problem during a pre-purchase car inspection doesn't automatically mean the car is a bad buy.

Almost every used car will have something that needs attention. What matters is understanding what the issue actually is, how serious it is and what it may cost to repair.

A minor leak or worn component is very different from a major mechanical problem that could turn into an expensive repair shortly after purchase.
When I carry out pre-purchase inspections across Brisbane, my job isn't to simply give a car a pass or fail. It's to explain what I've found, put the issues into perspective and give you the information you need to decide whether the car still makes sense for you.

Sway bar “D” bushes are small rubber components, but they play an important role in keeping the sway bar secure and helping the suspension work properly.

A lower price doesn't always mean you're getting a better deal. During pre-purchase car inspections in Brisbane, I sometimes find vehicles that look like a bargain at first but already have a list of maintenance or repair items waiting to be done.

Worn suspension components, oil leaks, overdue servicing or other mechanical issues can quickly add to the real cost of buying the vehicle.

On the other hand, paying a little more for a well-maintained car can sometimes save you considerably more after the purchase.
