PROJECT: MANTA RAY TRANSFORMATION- Job Done! ✅

What a transformation for this New Age Manta Ray.

It arrived at TPC on a tilt truck running traditional beam axles and leaf springs — and leaves with a very different setup.

✅ Cruisemaster ATX Air independent suspension
✅ New extended drawbar
✅ Large front storage unit fitted
✅ Engineering inspection and sign-off complete

With the fabrication and suspension work finished, there's just one final stop before handover — the scales for a final weigh-in.

With the new 4.5T ATM and 450kg capacity on the ball the Manta Ray had no issues on the scales. The extended drawbar and new box on the front adding only roughly 40Kg's to the ball weight.

A big project requiring suspension, fabrication and engineering work all brought together by the TPC team.

Serviced. Safe. Set for Adventure!

PROJECT: MANTA RAY TRANSFORMATION- New Drawbar 🛠️

New suspension sorted. Now it's time to turn our attention to the front of the Manta Ray.

The customer wanted to increase their storage capacity with a large new storage unit up front — but the existing drawbar simply didn't provide the space required.

The solution? Replace it.

Our team removed the original drawbar before fabricating and fitting a new extended setup designed to provide the additional room required while integrating with the existing chassis.

From the original setup ➡️ fabrication ➡️ fitment ➡️ finished product with the new storage unit installed.

A substantial modification, and a big change to the functionality of this van.

Next up: engineering, scales and the finished product!

PROJECT: MANTA RAY TRANSFORMATION- From Leaf Springs to ATX Air 💨

Time for one of the biggest changes to this New Age Manta Ray!

The original beam axles and traditional leaf spring setup were removed to make way for a complete Cruisemaster ATX Air independent suspension system.

It's a significant transformation underneath the van, delivering the benefits of premium independent air suspension and upgraded ATM to 4.5T. Bringing this Manta Ray right up to date with the latest and greatest gear!

From what rolled into the workshop to what you see here — it's quite the upgrade!

But we're not finished yet…

Next up: we're cutting off the original drawbar and building something a little bigger.

PROJECT: MANTA RAY TRANSFORMATION- Arrival 🛠️

This New Age Manta Ray arrived at TPC with a pretty serious upgrade list! In fact there was so much going on here we couldn't contain it to just one post!

Delivered to us on a tilt truck, the first step was getting it on the hoist for a full inspection before the work began.

The scope for this project:

🔧 Remove the existing traditional beam axle and leaf spring suspension
🔧 Upgrade to premium Cruisemaster ATX Air independent suspension
🔧 Remove and replace the existing drawbar
🔧 Extend the new drawbar to accommodate a large front storage unit
🔧 Engineering inspection and sign-off
🔧 Final weigh before handover

There's plenty of work ahead for the TPC team on this one.

Next up: out with the leaf springs and in with ATX Air!
