That's a wrap on the 2026 RCRA 1/8 off-road Nationals in Canberra.
Long days, Late nights and good times!

After not driving 1/8 buggy for quite a few months
I was very out of practice.

Was certainly a trying weekend wrapping my head around the setup and driving Characteristics so by the end of Saturday's double mains I finished 3rd overall in the D main. Not the result I would have liked but all in all it was great fun.
There are quite a few big events this year so I plan to spend more time behind the transmitter.

Thank you to all that made it an awesome weekend
Thank you to Speedy RC and Faster RC. Pro motion tyres for supporting me.

Stay tuned for more racing to come this year!
And potentially something big towards the end of the year.

Spent the weekend up at Valley raceway for the annual Sunny coast cup.
Started the weekend with a solid plan and that went out the window pretty quickly.

Saturday qualifying left alot to be desired.
Struggling hard with the setup on the buggy ended up qualifying down in 10th in the B main

Truggy went a little better but once again struggled a little bit with setup and consistency resulting in us starting 7th in the truck main

Sunday mains

I decided to make some radical changes to the buggy but unfortunately I just couldn't get to grips with the car and decided to retire from the buggy mains.

Truggy went considerably better.
A1 Starting from 7th position the first main struggled a little bit on a very dry track

A2 Made a few setup changes and got a grip on the car to finish in 2nd place

A3 was in contention for an overall podium but unfortunately by half race distance I had roasted the tyres off the car coming home in 5th Netting a 4th place overall.

It was certainly a learning weekend
Would like to thank Faster RC for and Pro motion tyres for coming on board this year. Tyres were awesome all weekend.
As always thank you to speedy RC for his continued support.

That's a wrap on my Entry for the 2025 1/10 Qld state titles sponsored by Speedy RC. And my first attempt at racing a 1/10 2wd buggy.

It took me a few laps to wrap my head around the driving techniques required especially on Toowoomba's loose style clay surface.

Qualifying went better than expected with the old Team Associated B6.1 having more grip than expected and being very forgiving. By the main events I was starting out of 6th place in the Triple A mains.

A1 managed to get a clean start and jump up to 3rd in lap one trying to keep it clean and consistent. A mistake let another driver through dropping me to 4th. On the last lap I went for an overtake back to 3rd going into the last set of corners but clipped a pipe and rolled the car. Net finish of 5th

A2 The start was not clean and getting tangled up sent me all the way back to 13th on lap 1. Over the 4 minutes remaining I managed to put down some clean laps and drove back to finish in the 5th position again.

A3 was much cleaner. Few bobbles at the start and I was able to take 4th place on lap 1. As I learnt the car more I started to get really comfortable with it and the surface starting to pick up more speed and pick off 3rd, with only a couple laps left I was closing on second place and a mistake by him allowed me to slide on by keeping that pace and finishing in 2nd.

As a result I finished off in 5th place overall for the day. Happy with the result given the lack of driving experience with these cars.

Big shoutout to the Darling Downs Off-road RC track crew for an awesome event. They worked tirelessly to prep the track for the event. Speedy RC for not only sponsoring the event but being trackside with the shop for all the needs required. But also continuing to support my racing.

Next big event will be the Asian Buggy championship at Pine hills Dirt racing on the 16-20th of July!

Went to pine Hills on the weekend for a club day race and a shake down before the annual ABC championship at the end of June.

After spending some time over the last few weeks getting some practice in and doing a bunch of testing on the car we lined up and made an absolute hash out of the first qualifier of the day.

Second qualifier was much better beating out Ryan Doble by 0.100 of a second at the line to take out that qualifier on 1st.

Finals would see us line up 2nd in the twin B mains.
First main started off good but some unfortunate errors put me towards the back. And only a few minutes into the race we broke a rod end in the steering so DNF

Second main also started very good but as a result of jamming the car back together the same rod had pulled the threads out making the car un-drivable so it was a second DNF.

Not ideal results but with the limited racing we have done due to the Logan off-road RC track being closed due to needing a new drivers stand it could have been worse. Car was fast and we posted some respectable lap times throughout the day.

About 4 weeks left to nail down a setup before the ABC championship on the 17-20 of July.

As always thank you to Speedy RC for your continued support.

King of the mountain in Toowoomba
And the Asian Buggy championship in Pine hills Brisbane.
Thankyou to Speedy RC for continuing to support my racing and we will see you trackside in 2 weeks time!

Good to be back after some time away.
Went down to Meakin park RC over the weekend for the annual running of the Meakin Masters event.

Run over 2 days Saturday had us out for seeing practice followed by 4 qualifiers to determine our position for Sunday's main events.

Qualified reasonably well putting us out of 4th for the triple B main on Sunday.

Sundays racing was a mixed bag.
After coming off the start well in the first race we got bumped by a driver a couple times which unfortunately turned us over and by the time we got marshalled the whole field had gone by.
Car felt fast but made mistakes trying to catch up then a terminal coming out of the battery gave us a DNF in the first main.

Second main
Unfortunately had a bad start rolling off the track in the first turn relegating us to last once again.
Track was getting quite dusty by this point and my tyre choice left alot to be desired.

Third main
Start of this main was better but 2 laps in I hit a kerb which flipped the car and once again the whole field went by. Made a tyre and slight suspension change to the car which made it much better and over the remaining 9 minutes climbed back up to finish 4th.

Overall it was an awesome weekend for my first attempt at this event.
Thanks to Speedy RC for their support of my racing and the Logan off-road RC club for putting on such a good event.

Finished up the 23-24 speedway season last night with the Queensland compact speedcars presentation dinner.

Final tally for the season
We managed to take out the B grade club championship
Finished 3rd overall for the presidents cup
Managed to get the Drivers driver award
And finished 4th in the overall club championship (A grade and B grade combined)

Huge thanks for those who made my first season in Compacts memorable and all around a good experience.
Thank you for those who nominated me as Drivers Driver, That means an incredible amount.
Thank you to Miss RWC and Mechanical for the support they gave me along with Speedy RC.

Despite not having a ride for next season I will still be around the track helping out. And who knows what the future will bring!
