Chasing an intermittent power steering issue on a Hyundai Accent. Sometimes when turning a tight corner, communication to the power steering and ABS modules would dropout, resulting in tough steering and multiple warning lights.
Canbus and power/earths tested fine at idle, and module voltage showed fine in the scan tool during driving - until communication was lost of course.
It wasn't until we pulled the strip fuse out of the fuse box (which is mostly hidden) that we saw this monstrosity - wire wrapped around the terminals acting as a fuse. Both a fire hazard and crash waiting to happen.
We quickly remedied this by replacing it with a correctly rated fuse filament (VW strip fuse type)

Three d-max/rodeo ecus in one week, two bosch edc15m1-8.6 and one delphi.
The first bosch burnt a hole in the board - we deemed it cheaper to replace than repair and sourced and programmed a second hand module.
The second bosch was suspected faulty by the owner and they'd already purchased a donor - we completed the clone for this also.
The delphi ECU was perfectly fine but the owner purchased a tuned engine with ECU, and wanted to run the new ECU tune - we copied the immobilizer only for the new ECU

Final picture is a jeep ECU in for bench test and boot unlock+edits
