This 8Y RS3 came in with intermittent misfiring. After inspecting the regular culprits (spark plugs and coils) we pressure tested the cooling system and found coolant was entering into cylinder 3.

We proceeded to remove the head and get it pressure tested after machining it and putting it back together with all genuine OEM gaskets and bolts. The coolant leak is now fixed and the misfiring has been resolved too.

Diagnosis, Analysis -> Repaired.

We had this striking Catalunya Red RS3 in for schedule oil service and check-up.

We noticed the standard 15,000km Audi maintenance schedule reminder was still active on this vehicle. We recommend oil change at 10,000km if tuned and even shorter interval if on e85. This has now been updated for the customers peace of mind.

Tech Talk Series: Premature wear (heat spots) of clutches within DSG transmissions is a sign of extreme heat generation, often caused by abusive driving, hard acceleration, heavy towing, or mechanical failures that lead to constant slipping.

This is even more prone to happen in tuned vehicles that make more power/ torque than factory setup, but with either no accompanying DSG tuning software OR quite often inadequate and inferior tuning software.

Below are pics of two Stage 2 vehicles, one running our recommended Unitronic DSG software with Motul fluid for over 30,000km (on a car with over 100,000km) vs the other running another brand for around 6,000km (on a car with less than 30,000km). It's clear which one is the better choice.

We completed an Oil change and Filter service, as he gets it prepped for, Roll Racing Australia at Sandown this Sunday. Romours are he has been called out by a few HSVs.

This car certainly brought back memories from the era when Australia had local manufacturing and you were either "Blue" (Ford) or "Red" (Holden). The GT R-spec was restricted to 350 vehicles and there were only 175 in black with red stripes like this. It came with a screaming or rather whining 5.0L Supercharged V8 (code named Miami) producing 335kw and 570nm. Let's just say this one makes more than that.

We had Imran's (aka RRKING/ MRRGTR) Mercedes S-class in for a major service and few tasteful modifications.

We carried out a full logbook service using genuine parts and factory equivalent diagnostic tools. We updated the service records in the vehicles MBUX system, to ensure the service history is maintained.

We had this latest generation Mk 8 Golf R in today for a Stage 1+ Unitronic ECU tune, with a good uplift in power (+131hp) and torque (+136nm) at the crank. Whilst TCU tuning is now available for the DQ381 DSG, support for the new TCUs such as the one in this car is still under development.

The Mk8 adds to the evolution of the Golf MQB platform with design changes to the exterior styling, but more notably to the interior with a more modern design and packed with new technology.
