So when Autosphere encouraged us to complete a used oil analysis, we jumped at the opportunity to put one of our cars under the microscope.
Used oil analysis provides valuable insight into not only how the engine oil is performing, but also internal engine wear, fuel dilution, contamination and potential preventative maintenance requirements.
Tawfeeq Hussain was the perfect candidate. The car has been running Motul 300V 5W-50 since the engine was built in April 2023, and it certainly hasn’t had an easy life:
- 15,000 km on the engine, running full E85
-12+ mid-to-low 9-second passes, trapping 155–160 mph
- 3+ years of roll racing and 25+ track events, with multiple round wins
After a 4,000 km oil interval, a laboratory analysis was conducted on 23 September 2026. The result: NORMAL ✅
The analysis showed:
✅ No abnormal engine wear
✅ Fuel dilution well controlled at 1.5%
✅ No indication of water or coolant contamination
✅ Oil viscosity remained within the specified operating range
