Tech Talk Series: Premature wear (heat spots) of clutches within DSG transmissions is a sign of extreme heat generation, often caused by abusive driving, hard acceleration, heavy towing, or mechanical failures that lead to constant slipping.
This is even more prone to happen in tuned vehicles that make more power/ torque than factory setup, but with either no accompanying DSG tuning software OR quite often inadequate and inferior tuning software.
Below are pics of two Stage 2 vehicles, one running our recommended Unitronic DSG software with Motul fluid for over 30,000km (on a car with over 100,000km) vs the other running another brand for around 6,000km (on a car with less than 30,000km). It's clear which one is the better choice.
At Fortune we have built up years of experience now with the DQ500 transmission found in the RS3, TTRS, RSQ3 and some VAG models. We offer full service, maintenance and rebuild services.
