Had a few calls for nice period beetle and type3 steering wheels lately , so I got busy rounding up some stock and tear down , inspect and rebuild to customers wishes , discovered a mix of Petri and Vdm products and a couple that had covers on them from very early on which preserved the wheel nicely as we all know these old wheels are prone to cracking and worse turning to dust !

So just in is this 12/82 t3 and it’s original and been sitting in the elements for a while and I could see that it would clean up ok , thought I’d take my boy down to help me clean it up and as he is now at his L plate age , I said well what’s your first car going to be ? He looked at the yellow brick and said I think I like this one , I said “ done! Now you better get to work and clean your car then” so the last couple of days we have enjoyed going through and improving some parts and getting everything working as it should again . Just as well he loves the older simpler things in life as that’s just what this base model is , and it is after all the last of the aircooled transporters so it’s ok by me !
