Just a quick heads up for anyone looking to get their boat sorted before heading out.

Big week in Bowen 🔥

This John Deere loader came in overheating and pushing coolant out, so we stripped it down and found the real issue — a dropped liner on cylinder 6.

Today we pulled the engine out and moved it into the engine room ready for a full rebuild.
Huge effort from Izac, Hillery Group’s apprentice, who jumped in and got his hands dirty all day.
Good to see the next generation coming through and learning the right way.

🌊 Stone Island Breakdown – Sorted. Just in Time for Xmas Prawns 🦐

Got called out to a trawler off Stone Island with no oil pressure on a Cummins Big Cam 855.

Found the issue straight away —
the oil pump drive shaft had spun inside the gear, so the pump wasn’t turning and the engine had zero oil flow.

Ordered a replacement pump through FS Equipment, installed it, primed the system properly, and the old Big Cam came straight back to life with full oil pressure.

The boat was back on the water, right in time to get prawns for Christmas.

🚨 Late-night breakdown? No stress — we’re on it.
Got called out to a K200 with a throttle fault. The sensor had already been replaced, but it was still playing up. We tracked it down to high resistance in the supply wire — ran a new one straight from the ECM and got the truck back on the road. 💪
