Why Retuning Matters

One of the biggest misconceptions in the tuning world is that a tune is a set-and-forget modification.

Over time, engines change. Injector flow rates can vary, sensors age, fuel quality changes, environmental conditions differ, and normal engine wear can alter how the engine responds compared to the day it was originally tuned.

This 1HD-FTE 100 Series recently came in for a retune, highlighting exactly why periodic tune optimisation is so important. By reviewing and recalibrating the tune to suit the engine’s current condition, we were able to improve overall performance, drivability, fuel efficiency, and ensure the engine was operating as intended.

One of the advantages of the UniChip platform is the ability to fine-tune and adjust the calibration as the vehicle evolves over time. This brand new Silverado ZR2 came in for a Uni-X ECU install and a LIVE dyno tune in real time, and the results speak for themselves.
