It been a long while since I posted anything, I have been busy in alot of areas of life, alot of time was spent doing the moving of the club layout, but I have wanted to finish some projects a and I have alot of old powerline fs and BS coaches I want to actually do some modelling with, so I have started attending the Alex brown school of carriage cutting and shutting, to learn how to do it properly, so here is me replicating my first lesson of constructing an MFS I have 4 of these I am doing, the BS I want to double check with him on the method.

Much happier with the end result no more musical ending to my 38 whistle, I'm calling Colin's 3813 ready to be handed back to him,
So this was a hardwired loksound 5 and two marklin sugar cubes, decoder cost whatever 8 pin decoder was that Colin paid for, I ditched the supplied esu speaker and put dual marklin sugar cubes as I was up at all aboard in Bowral on the weekend, they were 19 dollars, sound file I made and supply for free and I paid the installation forward as usual incase I need a favour in the future. Really happy with the result.
I might upload this new version of the sound file to my 3801.

Tonight's project while watching the state of origin, Final tweaks to individual sound slots to Colin's 3813, I removed the old qsi decoder and installed a loksound 5, I have written a sound project which I'm happy with, others maybe better but I'm happy with it and I know Colin is too when he saw the demo of it at the club the other day when it got new speakers.

So it's been a busy day in the train workshop, Curtis mowbray's awesome weathered and detailed lima s306 installed a loksound 5 by hardwiring it to the proto2000 sd7 mechanism,I installed dcc concepts led headlights and uploaded a freshly finished s class sound file.

All fixed up, this one is going back to its owner and onto the market so I ended up using a replacement rear truck from a spare dummy.
Just got to put the couplers back in and into the box.

4712 out of the Workshop and back on the roster, I found it a far more complex job than the 44 class gear replacement, I had to completely remove the driveshaft worm gears and de-solder the track pick up wires.
Typical that it had three cracked m**f gears, so as usual I replace the whole set so I don't have any rework.
I was warned it was harder than the 44.....it was.
