In light of recent events, Round 7 of the Maffra and District Car Club’s Hillclimb Series will be dedicated to our much-loved, long-serving member, Maurice McCarthy.

From a purpose-built buggy, Hyundai Excels and even a little Ford Ka, Moz had a plethora of vehicles that he raced at Boisdale. But one thing that always remained the same was his generous and ongoing contribution to our club.

This one’s for you, Moz.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our much-loved car club member, Maurice McCarthy.

The Maffra & District Car Club extends our deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to Maurice’s family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
Maurice was a treasured and valued member of our car club, and his presence will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Although a quiet man, Maurice had a heart of gold. He was always happy to stop for a chat, share a smile and enjoy the company of his fellow club members. His kind nature and warm smile will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

The Round 7 Hillclimb, being held this Saturday, will be dedicated to Maurice’s memory. A minute’s silence will be held during the event as we come together to remember and honour a much-loved member of our club.

Rest in peace, Maurice. You will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by us all.
