Another 79 Series LandCruiser in the workshop today for a diesel intake and EGR clean.

Over time, carbon deposits can build up inside the intake manifold and EGR system, restricting airflow and contributing to a gradual loss of performance, fuel economy and drivability.

Using our professional diesel induction cleaning equipment, we cleaned the intake system to help remove carbon build-up and restore efficient airflow through the engine.

Customer brought their car in with spluttering, rough running and stalling issues after sitting unused for 12 months.

After dropping the fuel tank, we found the culprit.
Years of old fuel had turned into sludge, contaminating the tank, fuel pump and pickup sock. Rust and debris throughout the system meant the engine simply wasn’t getting clean, consistent fuel supply.

We’ve now cleaned and repaired the fuel system to get this one back on the road reliably again.

A good reminder that vehicles left sitting for long periods can develop serious fuel contamination issues, especially with modern fuels. If your car is going into storage, regular starts and proper fuel treatment can save a lot of headaches later on.
