Steve booked in his Land rover Evoque for it's regular Log Book Service

But during that service we found that the car battery failed the load test and needed to be replaced.

We also found that the rear brake pads had less than 3mm so it was a safety issue and we replaced both rear brake rotors and brake pads.

Steve took advantage of one of our loan cars so he could continue with his day.

⛽ Do You Know Your Fuel Types?

With several fuel options available at Australian service stations, it can be confusing to know what the different numbers and labels actually mean.

🔹 Diesel
Designed for diesel engines, diesel fuel is different from petrol and should only be used in vehicles designed for diesel. Diesel engines are commonly found in 4WDs, utes, vans and commercial vehicles.

🔹 Unleaded 91
The standard unleaded petrol available at most service stations. It has a minimum octane rating of 91 and is suitable for many petrol vehicles. Always check your vehicle manufacturer's recommended fuel.

🔹 Premium Unleaded 95
A higher-octane petrol with an octane rating of 95. Some engines require or recommend 95, while others can use it as an alternative to 91.

🔹 Premium Unleaded 98
A higher-octane petrol with a rating of 98. It is recommended or required for some higher-performance and turbocharged engines. Using a higher octane fuel isn't automatically better for every vehicle — follow the manufacturer's recommendation.

🌱 E10
Unleaded petrol containing up to 10% ethanol. E10 can be used in many petrol vehicles, but not all vehicles are compatible, particularly some older models. Check your owner's manual or manufacturer's advice before using it.

🌱 E85
A fuel containing a much higher proportion of ethanol — typically 51–83% ethanol, depending on the season and fuel specifications. E85 is only suitable for vehicles specifically designed or approved for flex-fuel/E85 use. It should not be used in a standard petrol vehicle unless the manufacturer says it is compatible.

👉 The most important rule: Don't simply choose the most expensive fuel. Use the fuel grade and type recommended for your vehicle.
