A finished exhaust system ready for work in the field.

This exhaust pipe was fabricated by EPE for an agricultural crop harvester, then painted and fitted with our Ironbark thermal insulation.

The insulation helps manage surface temperature around the exhaust while protecting surrounding components and improving safety around the machine.

EPE was recently asked to replicate a set of existing exhaust systems for high pressure water blasting units.

Our workshop fabricated the custom pipework and mounting arrangements to suit off the shelf exhaust mufflers, then supplied the completed systems with thermal insulation ready for service.

It is a good example of how we combine standard components with custom fabrication to reproduce a proven setup and keep equipment operating as intended.

DRILL26 is underway in Adelaide and Mason and Julian are on the ground representing EPE.

They are exhibiting across the event, talking with drilling operators about the problems they are seeing in the field and where filtration, exhaust, thermal insulation, instrumentation or custom fabrication can help improve reliability.

Manufacturing does not stop when the welding is finished.

This exhaust was manufactured at EPE before receiving its final coat of black heat resistant paint, all within our Bibra Lake workshop.

From fabrication through to the finishing touches, keeping the process in house gives our team greater control over quality, consistency and turnaround.

A normal day at EPE looks a little different depending on where you are standing.

In the workshop it might be welding, pipe bending, CNC cutting or working through a CAD drawing. In the warehouse it is orders being picked, packed and moved out the door.

None of it is flashy, but it is the work that keeps jobs moving and customers supplied.

This is what capability looks like day to day.

This replacement silencer is being fabricated for an emergency diesel generator in the Perth C*D.

Working from customer supplied dimensions, EPE is manufacturing the unit on a build to print basis using our established fabrication methods.

The application has strict surrounding noise requirements and a required service life of more than 30 years, so material selection, fabrication quality and final fit all matter.

It is a good example of where a direct replacement still needs to meet demanding operational requirements from day one.

Vibration control is usually the part nobody thinks about until something fails somewhere else.

Left unmanaged, vibration transmitted through mounting points accelerates fatigue in surrounding brackets, fittings and structural welds, often long before the engine itself shows any wear. Getting isolation right comes down to load rating, natural frequency and the operating environment, not a generic mount pulled off a shelf.

Vibratec mounts are engineered to isolate that vibration at the source, reducing the load transmitted to everything downstream. Specify it correctly once, and everything connected to it lasts longer.

Gaskets are the typically the lowest cost item in a system, but equally, they are most important. Without correct sealing the best piping will leak.

This is a great example of a joint that has struggled to seal. The customer used good quality materials but the design let them down with low bolt torque loads on the sealing face. It resulted it an oxidized gasket which cause a leak.
