Studebaker Parts

This was a great day despite the putrid weather. The club was very fortunate to secure such a fabulous undercover venue for the event. Shannons went above and beyond in preparing their showroom, providing staff, organising the coffee vendor etc. They even facilitated vehicles being able to be dropped off the day before and collected on the Monday after, which helped people with multiple cars to display. An absolutely brilliant effort on their behalf!

The Studebaker Movement lost one of its most prominent elder statesmen yesterday with the passing of Jim Quigley.

The depth of his knowledge of all things Studebaker was vast, encompassing facts and figures and memorabilia as well as extensive technical expertise on all aspects of the vehicles themselves.

Jim was always an enthusiastic participant at club meetings and was happy to provide input when mechanical discussions arose, including demos of how to rebuild an automatic transmission.

Although he had several Studebakers over the years there was one constant - his beautiful blue 1964 Gran Turismo. He proudly displayed the GT many times at car shows and exhibitions, as recently as just a few weeks ago.

We extend our sincere condolences to Greta, Cheryl and Sharon and the extended family.

Watch for the title character's new ride in coming episodes of 'Jack Irish'. Having totalled his Rover in Sunday night's airing, his new wheels surely can't be too far away. Hopefully this one won't come to a gruesome end like his 1960 Hawk in the previous season.
