🎷 Well… that escalated quickly. 😳

This vehicle was in for its regular service and, as part of our checks, we inspected the spare tyre.

Safe to say, we weren’t expecting to find this 😂

It appears this tyre was likely previously used on the vehicle before being moved to the spare. At some point, impact damage may have weakened the internal structure, allowing air pressure to push through those weak points over time creating these rather impressive “eggs”. 😳

A sidewall bulge means the tyre’s internal structure has been compromised and it’s no longer safe to use.

A good reminder of why we check the spare during a service. It’s easy to forget about until you actually need it!

The customer was advised and we organised a new spare, so thankfully they won’t be relying on this one on the side of the road ✅

🛠️ Not quite the axle seal leak we were expecting…

We had previously identified leaking rear wheel cylinders on this Hilux and recommended a rear brake overhaul.

The customer had since been advised by another mechanic there may also be a leaking rear axle seal, so we allowed for it in the quote but checked it properly before replacing anything unnecessarily.

Turns out the axle seal was okay, all that mess was brake fluid from the leaking wheel cylinders! 😬

After a serious clean-up (and plenty of scrubbing from Dylan 🧽), we carried out the rear brake overhaul and got the Hilux back on the road. 🔧

Sometimes the best repair is knowing what doesn't need replacing.

From factory standard to adventure ready! 🚙

12 months ago, one of our long-term customers brought in their brand new Isuzu D-MAX as the first step towards building their ideal adventure set up.

We fitted a lift kit and organised a new wheel and tyre package to give it the stance and capability they were after. Since then, the owner has continued adding accessories to suit their adventures, and it's been great seeing the transformation come together.

The D-MAX recently came back to us for its next logbook service, and seeing the "before" and "after" photos side by side really shows how far it's come.

🚨 Engine Oil or Vegemite? 🚨

What you're looking at is engine oil that has turned to sludge after a vehicle travelled approximately 60,000km with only two services 🫣

Thankfully, we were able to save this one with plenty of cleaning and flushing.

The owner is now one of our regular customers and receives service reminders to help keep their maintenance on track ✅

A regular service is a lot cheaper than an engine replacement. 🔧

🚨 Unscheduled Post 🚨

One of Brooke's scheduled Facebook posts appears to have gone missing.

I've been instructed to "just post something."

So here's a photo of me and Ben standing in front of a car we've been working on.

The car is fixed.

We're still here.

Brooke is still on leave.
