She’s back on the road!

A quick mechanical freshen up, a couple of new lenses and some minor tinkering, and the 61 Beetle has hit the road again for the first time since 2008.

William may be biased, but how good is this colour/trim combination. Surely the best there was in 1961!

Surely this bus is worth saving?

Now we all know the time and money that is invested in restoring a VW Kombi nowadays, but someone would surely be interested in this as a winter (or two winters) project.

Mostly complete, no engine and I’ll ever make sure the rear is cleaned out.

1970 Wide 5 Lowlight Kombi. Originally saved from Liffey back in 2012 by yours truly. Several owners later she has arrived back at Bellingham and now finally she needs to find her forever home.

$1200. Located Bellingham. 40 minutes north east of Launceston.

Photos form most of the description! Has a super solid top and A pillars but has the lower demons as they all do.

As part of a deceased estate from a long term follower of the page, Myrtle the Turtle is seeking her new owner.

Project 1/2 before Bub arrives is nearing completion!

Another order to All Air Cooled, a wheel alignment and a quick once over the engine, and this little one previous family owned 61 will be back on Tassie’s roads for the first time since December 2008 (nearly 18 years ago)

And I mean how good is the colour and trim combo 😍

Both myself and Tassievwpickers have been a bit quiet lately and I think it’s about time I share some news.

Tassievwpickers will be a bit quieter this year because come March, Olivia my fiance and I will be expecting our first child! Coincidentally Bub is due the weekend after the Turners Beach Berry Patch (yes it’s still on!)

Rather than travelling Tassie wide and hustling vintage Volkswagen’s and parts, we’ve been busy preparing for life’s new adventure, parenthood, and anything related to the business has taken a backseat.

Tassievwpickers won’t be going anywhere. It’s my passion and I live and breathe Volkswagens every single day, but this year i’m taking a step back.

So for everyone that has reached out chasing something, or just to say hello I’m sorry I’ve been quiet, I’m just preparing for the biggest adventure of all.

Keep in touch, don’t make a strange of yourselves.

Ps. The Turners Beach Berry Patch VW Day is on this year, Saturday March 7th! I just most likely won’t be there depending on what Bub does!

- Joan the beautiful 65 13 Window Deluxe has found a new home in Tassie! I’m extremely stoked to see her stay local, and the new owners have a pretty special connection to her.

Stated 2026 off with a day trip with mates out to the Narawantapu region in Northern Tassie. 🙌
