1️⃣. The pines tennis club - We are looking to expand the club and every dollar counts. We would also use the funds to purchase nets or equipment for our hot shots courts that help kids aged 3-8 years old play tennis.
2️⃣. Dance Development Centre - Dance Development Centre is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, making it one of Canberra's longest operating dance schools. DDC is also Canberra's only full-time dance school, where students have the opportunity to undertake their dance training during the day, alongside their academic studies. To celebrate this milestone, we are putting on a large end of year gala with choreography from alumni and other guest choreographers. Many of our past students have been successful in the dance industry, including acceptance into the Australian Ballet, New Zealand Ballet, and Brent Street, just to name a few. DDC would greatly benefit from the $500 to put towards the theatre hire, production costs, choreography fees, and the gala promotion.
3️⃣. Wildcats Softball - Wildcats Softball Club is a community-focused organisation dedicated to fostering a love for softball and promoting teamwork, health, and inclusivity. Despite a growing membership, we face challenges in securing resources to fully support our players and facilities. A Gerald Slaven Community First grant would provide crucial funding for equipment, enhanced training programs, and uniforms. These improvements would benefit all members, expand our reach, and support more community events.
